Default Glass Roof Hail Damage

I got caught out in a hail storm here and sustained a number of quarter size areas in my glass roof that look like the hail maybe removed some of the coating. It's honestly not that bad, but sucks on a >10k mile F-type. After talking to the local glass repair place, I'm concerned I might be trading an issue that is just cosmetic for something really bad by trying to replace the factory roof.

Anyone out there dealt with an issue like this on a Jaguar/Land Rover or other vehicle? How'd it work out for you?

Much appreciated!

i wouldn't use anyone not explicitly recommended by JLR for this replacement.

What did it do to the hood as a matter of interest?

I visited one of the 2 qualified shops for F-Type repair in New Jersey when I got my F-Tyoe. Body pannels, the roof and structure use special adhesives - you need a trained tech to take them apart and put them back together. Front windshield is replaceable by qualified shops.
Should be an insured repair, no?

Yes. Insurance should pay, less any deductible.

Yes, it's going to be insurance. That said, my concern is getting the factory fit so that I have to deal with roof issues moving forward. The glass company I spoke to was recommended by my jaguar dealer, but they said I was right to be concerned about getting a factory quality seal.

my local dealer subcontracts stuff like this out (glass, wheels). I deal with the dealer, they deal with the sub. That way if something goes wrong, I take it back to the dealer to make right. I prefer this approach, but I suppose not all dealers may operate that way.
