Default Heated Windscreen Replacement

Anyone here ever has to have the Heated front Windshield replaced on your FTYPE. If so How much did it cost and who did it for you(jaguar vs Third Party). I have had issues with SAFELITE doing my other cars with frontal cameras and am hesitant to use them for the Jag.

What happened with the SAFELITE installations on your past cars with cameras?

I have read that initially, Safelite had issues with camera calibration on MANY makes. I think they got better with experience.
The quality of aftermarket glass was a factor, too.

I would look for reviews from the past year or two to judge.

I do not have the heated windshield but when safelite changed my standard windshield, they could only get the Jag glass, there was no aftermarket glass. That was about 4 years ago though.

Makes sense - probably too little demand to justify a third party bothering to tool up for them.

So on my 2019 Mini they originally did the install and the gentlemen couldnt get the calibration on the camera correct. A new tech came out a couple days later and tried but was unable to get the frontal collision system working completely. Visually I get the notification but no audio alert It has never worked 100 percent of the time since they did the install

I had Safelite come to my house after road debris destroyed my XE’s windshield. The installer said that the camera was throwing a code, and he wasn’t allowed to change the windshield until it was fixed. As I had a service appointment with my dealer coming up, I told him I’d reschedule after it was fixed.

The dealer mocked Safelite, said they were lousy, and that there were no codes from the front camera.

Safelite came back, and the tech said the code was still there. After nearly an hour on the phone, he decided the code was from the rear camera, so he could proceed.
