Help to find Navigation log in screen 2017
AFter reading through the threads and the manual, I am unable to figure out how to log in the the Navigation system on my 2017 F.
On my PC, I can get to the map updater and use my HERE account to log in, but when it asks me to add a vehicle, it won't accept my VIN as valid.
I am the second owner of this car, and wondering if the PO set up the nav system and already inputted the VIN.
I went through all the menus in the Nav system on the car, looking for a way to log in, and don't see it.
This car has the special USB port in the console/cubby for the updates. No SIM
From the cryptic instructions given from HERE, they are telling me I have to be logged into the Nav system on the car and also log in to my HERE account on my PC as the same time to get the two synched.
HERE is pretty useless. I received another email today with a totally different reply, telling me to use the SIM and a data plan, totally ignoring the fact that I told them I do NOT have a SIM. .. just the USB. They must just cut and paste instructions from some source and throw them at you.

I think you are correct in the assumption that the previous owner set it up which is why you can't add the VIN. I read somewhere you have to go through customer service at JLR for InControl and they can remove the VIN from the previous owner's account and add it to yours. Then it should work.
After spending several hours over the course of a week, I decided to call Jaguar customer service. The woman on the phone was very pleasant, but she wanted me to use the SD card to update and my 2017 doesn't use an SD card. No SD card slot in the cubby, just the USB ports. I have found references to my InControl pro unit using USBs for updates. I gave her my HERE login info and had her go through what I do and end up with the site telling me I have to input a valid VIN. At that point she decided to push it up the food chain to Jaguar Tech. Tech contacted me with the full explanation of how to use the SD card to update the Nav system. AAAAGGH OK, start over. So I sent them all the screen shots of where I had gone to get supporting information, site links, what results I was getting, the InControl unit I have as well as a photo of my USB ONLY plug in area in the cubby. I reiterated that the problem is the site refusing to accept my VIN. I can easily manage picking out what plan I want, paying for it and also supplying the 64Gb flash drive needed for the update, but without the VIN page letting me get any further, dead in the water.
Interestingly enough, I was, a few months back, able to create an account to subscribe to Jaguar Remote. $70 a year, but it allows you to track your drives, see where your car is geographically, and several other features. I thought I'd try it for a year, as it seemed to be a good thing to have if the car was ever stolen. My insurance company gave me an $18 annual discount for having it. Not much, but it does offset the cost. The log in is the same to get to the route planner, where you can find the link to "Maps and Services:

Stay tuned for further updates.
