Just picked up my 2016 convertible after ceramic coating and she is glossy as hell! Before taking her in I blacked out the Chrome ring in the front grill and also painted the black lip the same body color and wrapped with clear ppf so that it match the car body which is more of the 2018 design.
Both cars look amazing! Gotta watch for those pesky water marks though. That's one reason why I don't coat my cars. I prefer to use Fusso or another long-lasting sealant and do a light polish every year or two.
the paint correction is the important part, if that isnt done right there is no point doing the coating. And if it is done right, then the car will look fantastic whether it is done in ceramic or polished and waxed, ignoring the protective qualities of ceramic.
I've seen people spend $1500 for rubbish that is put on by hand in a morning, usually sold by the titty gals at a dealership, but then I've seen fantastic work for the same price.
