Default Key FOB

Just had to replace the battery in my key fob this morning. When splitting the case to access the battery the little tabs that hold the metal emergency key keeper in place as well as one of the plastic tabs to position the key broke off. The plastic the fob case appears to be decomposing and getting brittle. This also happened with a spare key I never use as I replace both batteries the same time because the batteries go dead whether the fob is used or not. Not a super big problem but the emergency key now rattles in the key fob once reassembled.

Anyone else have this happen?

Mine are both fine after replacing my batteries. No sign of brittleness.

Ours was fine after replacing both our FOB batteries last year.

Perhaps you could roll the emergency key in thin packing foam to stop the rattles.
