Default knocking noise after let off gas pedal

Has anyone encountered this before? Mine is a 16' R with 23k miles on it. have not got a chance to go to dealership. Could it be coming from the transmission?

I'll ask the super obvious question. You don't mean the exhaust snaps and pops, right?

I had to ask. Someone thought the dry clutch on my old bike was a loose bolt in the engine...

Maybe excessive lash in the gearbox or differential.

Possibly a motor mount.

A "knowledgeable" neighbour of mine told me the stone rattling in the disc shield was my exhaust dragging on the road! Amazing that slackening a wheel could refit an exhaust.

I know that sound. Still have bikes that make it. A friend described that, in concert with the Termignonis as "a blender full of nickels in a thunderstorm."
