Default LED conversion

I'm sure this has been asked 100 times, but the search function isn't intuitive for me, so I'll ask for the 101st time. I have a 2016 F Type R with HIDs that are too dim for my taste. All my other cars have LED conversions. I found a kit that comes with a "decoder" to trick the computer. My car has the moving headlights, I can't remember what it is called. Will the "decoder" fool that as well? Has anyone done this conversion? Thanks.

I fitted LED globes to my MY 2015 F-Type a couple of years ago, zero problems since and the headlights still move as intended.
No mention of any "decoder" in the kit or the ad and the globes were child's play plug and play to fit.
I have a post or two about them around here somewhere but blowed if I can find it!

Nice try DJS but that's the wrong thread!
That thread is about upgraded HID bulbs/globes not LEDs despite the misleading title.

DJS;

You are a veritable hero.... how people find stuff on this forum without you handing and gifting them directions I don't know.

Care to come over and do my taxes???

It’s a benefit of being recently retired.

I retired nearly 10 years ago now and I can't find stuff on this forum for ****!
The search function is the worst I have ever used and is so bad it is pretty much useless at best and more often worse than useless.
Yes I have used the Google search method but for reasons of my own I prefer to steer clear of anything Google.

I did an advanced search for threads containing posts made by you with the keyword LED. Not many hits to chose from.

For the record, I used the information in the thread and bought the LED bulbs off amazon listed and fitted them to my car. The improvement was and is wonderful...be probably 12 months..no issues.

And the things still move like they did with the HID's...so win win.

As a separate data point, I use Osram Cool Blue Boost HIDs; they are pretty bright and match the color of the 'J' DRL almost exactly. I did a ton of research on the Amazon brands and chose one before that to test, but ended up returning because they had a green tint to them.

Thanks - that is a good point and did not realize there was a color difference - am not that worried though because the LED's are super bright and will last likely forever - the bulb change is not hard but it "is" a pain in the knuckles. I always sort of liked mismatched lights....call me old school or odd...here is one of my favorite sedans ever:

Yep, that looks super clean. I have a E46 myself that I'm running yellow fogs on. I always considered it the EDM look
