Default Looking for member who asked about inventory on the Pierburg CWA150 Coolant Pump.

We had a few forum members ask about inventory of the Pierburg CWA150 coolant pumps, as they are normally out of stock and hard to find. We did receive in a shipment of these and filled our remaining back orders, with a few left available (as of Feb 9, 2026) for anyone who was still looking for these. Here is a link to the product that also comes with a custom made wiring harness: Pierburg CWA150 Water Pump - 2010 MY-on Jaguar/Land Rover AJ133/AJ126 3.0 5.0 Supercharged Engines - Velocity Automotive Performance

Is the CWA150 a direct replacement? Is it acting the same way as the original pump?

What I understand is that the pump is controlled by the ECU.

wahat is the difference between the the pre 2015 setup “wiring modification requered”

thank you,

Adam

Adam,

It is a higher flow pump otherwise it acts and works like the OEM pump would function. We provide a wiring harness for the later model years, however earlier model years will require you to splice the wires to the pump or purchase a wiring harness you can modify to work.

Hi Scott,

Thanks for the update. The VAP website is a bit vague on how "direct" of a direct replacement it is.

VAP Website:
"PLEASE NOTE:
  • PUMP DOES NOT FIT CLEANLY INTO OEM SPACE, SOME MODIFICATIONS ARE REQUIRED.
  • NO BRACKET INCLUDED TO FASTEN, ZIP TIES OR OTHER FABRICATED BRACKET MAY BE NECESSARY
  • PROFESSIONAL OR DEALER INSTALLATION RECOMMENDED"
Do you all have any pictures, an installation video, or more information what this means.

Thanks.

Sorry for all my questions, but I like to understand.

Will the pump run constant? The original pump is ECU controlled, is the CWA150 also ECU controlled. A fuse upgrade I assume?

Cooler intake air seems like a good thing to do, but is it the thing to do on a street car? Are there benefits?

Regards, Adam

You will need to upgrade the fuse to a 20 amp otherwise it is plug & play. It will operate just as the original just a larger flow rate.

How does this pump compare to the Bosch 0392022002? I did some searching without success (admittedly, my searching skills aren’t the best). I have a brand new Bosch with correct wiring plug sitting on my workbench, but don’t want to waste my time if it isn’t any good.

Not something we have researched to compare.
