My 2015 F-Type needs new front brake pads and rotors and of course the JLR price for the repair is sky high. I’m looking to buy some StopTech drilled/slotted rotors and a brake pad sensor and do it myself or have a local shop do it. Also want to get new tires and alignment from an outside shop.

Will this void my CPO? Everything I find online is pretty inconclusive about outside work/parts.

How many miles are you at?

About 58k miles, I bought it at 47k. Covered on CPO until 100k or mid 2021.

Was the car CPO when you bought it? If so, they should have replaced the pads and rotors as part of the CPO process. Have you worn through new brakes/rotors in just 11K miles?

I bought it CPO from a Jaguar dealership. I doubt I wore through them but have no idea... it’s a daily driver. I agree, I think I may have gotten a raw deal but it was a year ago so not sure what to do about that or if it’s worth it.

Put the brake parts on you want. They aren't part of the CPO. Stop Tech makes decent parts.

Interesting. I too bought a '15 CPO from a Jaguar dealership with 12,000 miles on the clock. They gave me a list of everything done to the car to qualify it as CPO. New brakes, rotors and tires were at the top of the list.

To answer your question, to my knowledge, brakes, rotors, tires and alignment are not covered under the CPO warranty so there should be no issues taking it to an independent shop.

It's a maintenance thing so it's not covered under warranty. But buying them from a Jaguar website is the best way to go. If you actually go to the dealership or try to call it in for estimate, they overcharge. Buy online and go pick them up. That's the best way to save money. Just as an example, I needed a new Undercover. Online it's 152, when I went to the actual dealership, they wanted to 226.

+1, there are a few Jag OEM parts sites around and the prices are much better than my local dealer, even with shipping.

Yeah you can go to your local dealership website and search the order parts online tab. Even rubber jaguar mats were about 80 on the site, and 179 in person. FOR FREAKING FLOOR MATS!

What are some of the oem or aftermarket sites folks use to order from? Aside from vivid racing or vap, there really doesn’t seem to be much in terms of quality aftermarket alternatives for parts, especially common wear and tear parts like pads, rotor, etc.

I have used a few, but the best I have found for maintenance and service items such as brake parts, pads, filters etc for price and service are Rock Auto (US) & Rimmer Bros (UK) and for body and trim parts Britcar (UK).
Reno Jaguar is also good for all sorts of parts.
