Welcome to the advanced electronic technology of Jaguar. Your car is no doubt doing the best it can unless they sneaked in some additional functionality for MY20

No voice control in the f type but you do have Apple car play. Use that and "hey Siri" if you have an iPhone.

Hi Nati.
Just find it very strange on such a high end car no voice control . Have apple car play, hate the cable running in the middle of the car.

Thanks

You can easily hide the wire by running it out the back of the center console cover hinge and tuck it up under the console edge lip on the passenger side until it gets to the top of the jebus bar. That leaves only about 6 inches of exposed cable before you reach a dash mounted phone.

Not so strange when you consider it would have to compete with that exhaust!

I understand that millennials believe God made phones in his own image, but I still prefer using one phone to turning a high end car into a second redundant phone. Either way, it only takes a minute to run a 10 ft cord from the lighter or a usb in the center arm rest, under the back hinge, to the front dash tucked under the tunnel side trim, under the steering column and up the door seal molding to a magnetic vent phone mount. No wires visible. No need for car play.

Oh sh*t the nostalgia response reflex kicked in.
Forget the rotary dial, who remembers the crank phone and then the era in which customers were only allowed to rent their device, not purchase it?
I still remember the one gas station in my dad's home town with the glass container which you filled with a hand crank to the level of gas you wanted and then allowed the product to gravity feed through a hose into your tank.
I need a nap.
