Perhaps the baffled section can be replaced while keeping the OEM filter box in place. I’m going to try to get to this project this week.
Agree 100% with Unhingd. This is your problem! I have upper and lower intake upgrades, and you can hear the whine until the exhaust kicks in! No issues with a cone filter with the waterproof mesh cover. Based on location and no real openings, should be OK.

Good luck

I put one on my BMW M Roadster when I found the ITG foam oiled filter on the cold air intake starting to disintegrate.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Is here any way to use OEM filter box with mina upper intake tube?
only change the section(s/c pacifier)to increase whine?

No...The Baffle is part of the lower intake. You can use the Mina upper with the OEM lower, but that still leaves the baffle/pacifier in there. The most sound comes from removing the lower baffle (part of the lower intake) as shown.

It may be possible to leave the OEM AirBox and just use the piping from an aftermarket lower intake...But you would need to line it all up properly, and hope it is the right length (and I do not think it is?).

Thanks for the advice.

Then, there is 2 ways for me to make the s/c whine louder.

one is to use open filter that will come up with the tubes replacing paficier.
second is to use aftermarket lower intake with oem filter. Do you happen to know where to buy?
What do you mean by line it all up properly? if lower tube is sold, it is already being set to be used right ? No?

What I mean, is the lower Intake kits are designed to replace the whole lower unit, including the airbox/filter. If you just want to use the "Tube" portion (to get rid of the baffle/silencer), you will need to be sure it lines up/aligns/fits into the factory AirBox. MAy require some alteration? I think Unhingd is considering doing something like that from a previous post?

So you would have to mate up the new pipe and original box like I tried to demonstrate below quickly in Photoshop....my worst work ever, but you get the point. Have to be sure the red circle area would mate up...

Thanks for the kind information.
Now I get it.

Lower intake means open filter maybe. which Unhingd doen't recommend to use because of several reasons.
To use Oem filterbox i need to kinda tubes to replace pacifier only and that kinda thing isn't being sold at the moment in the market.
Right?

I’ll get on this hopefully this weekend. I think the best solution will be to use the Mina lower tubing, and find a cone filter with a properly filtering paper/fabric element.

Try looking in here https://www.amsoil.com/p/eaau I think you'll find what you're looking for. They're really nice filters and you can find one to fit almost any where.

you mean to use mina open filter connected to upper mina intake and cover the filter with the proper one, do I understand well?

No...I want to use just the Mina lower tubing with the upper Mina intake already installed, and find a paper filter to use rather than the oil soaked filter provided by Mina. Oil soaked filters do not filter as well as the paper media filters. I don't want to sacrifice engine longevity for sound,. Performance is minimally affected by filter type.

Does Mina offer only lower tube w/o filters?
I never find the one on their site.
Or you purchase lower section inc.filter and just leave aside the filter and use another filter w/o oil soaked?

If this is right, what filter are you suggesting?

How far off is it to modify the Mina lower tubes to use with the OEM filter boxes?

The Mina lower intake comes with oil soaked filter cones.

I will be checking that out when I get to this installation.

At least on the left side of the car, the OEM filter box can be left in place with the Mina lower intake:

Have you done successfully? for both side?

Doesn't it show any error code when removing pacifier?

So, I need you purchase mina lower tube package and the open filter included is useless when I want to keep oem filter box.
Right?

I’ve been tied up playing on the the John Deere doing some erosion control on the stream, so no progress on installing the lower intake on the right side. Maybe tomorrow.
No error code with the left intake replacement. The OEM MAF tube section is used with the Mina lower intake on that side, so I would not expect a code to be thrown.
Yes, I did not install the cone filter provided by MINA.
With just the left side installed, I still don’t hear much more SC whine. The cone filters may be needed to get the SC whine.

Thank you soooo much for the kind reply man!

So...
Even if I replace OEM pacifier with the tube offered by Mina , it doesn't really bring dramatic change on S/C whine.
Should change oem filter with cone filter that will increase the sound of S/C.

As I ordered and changed upper intake expecting only S/C whine , I don't really want to do uncertain job.
Your job is really helpful for me in this regard.

Conclusion is..

Even if pacifier is replaced with lower mina tube, it won't give an effect on s/c whine.

Hm..
Don't know now how to do for my goal to hear S/C shine.
