Today I learned that when you remove the two side inspection plates, under the hood, by the windshield, you have to be really careful with the plastic fastener nuts. If they fall, they will not fall all the way to the garage floor. They will land in the pan, under the engine. Then you have to try to find them (inspection camera) and retrieve them.

Probably not news to all, but I was surprised to see a little gap on the speedometer needle, presumably to show you the numbers underneath as the needle sweeps by.

That gauge is too small for me to practically use, so I just look at the digital speed gauge when driving. Just noticed that thing with the needle when I was parked.

The dimmer switch, which on all other cars, adjusts the dashboard lights, only adjusts the button lights.

Try using the dimmer when you are not in dynamic mode.

I didn't know for a day or two that there ISN'T a "rear storage compartment" between the seats -- despite what it says in the soft copy of the owner's manual. (I read on the train on the way to the dealer.) It must have been added later, since I've seen it in newer MY's.

That compartment is only on the verts. The coupes do not have it.

It is/was an option on the convertible. Mine doesn't have it.

I got the 'lockable stowage compartment' as part of the premium package. That increases the interior storage space to approximately zero (with rounding).

The recommended/optimal spot to apply pressure when closing the hood is two hands on the front, below the pivot point of the hood, not at the aft edge, which is where the sales guy showed me.

LOL, I actually have more storage without that compartment because in that area I get a little recessed area with stretchy cargo netting over it.

I noticed over the weekend that there is a coat hook behind the driver's seat.

I don't think that is a coat hook and if it were you would crush your coat unless you were 5'5" or shorter.

That hook behind the passenger seat is a great place for a coat or dry cleaning. I have the #3 seat position button programmed to full forward for that purpose. If the seat back were heated you could use it as a laundry press in the full back position.

I managed to get three 3x5 index cards into mine. I consider that spacious.

Default Ambience lighting

With the S (V6) I got the switchable interior ambient lighting included as standard. When I finally played around with it I thought it didn't even work as I was only looking at the internal door handle which always remained that greenish blue hue. I finally realized though that most other lights did indeed change... like the ones beneath the door handle shining onto the arm rest or one within the triangular opening of the passenger handle on the middle console... too bad lighting is mixed as a result!

Cheers
Lyndon

Yeah that feature is almost as disappointing as the "stealth" button...

At least the handle turns red when I switch to dynamic, so my passengers have fair warning

Yesterday I threw my backpack in the trunk after my last meeting, got in and hit the start button - two chirps instead of the lovely start sequence... I then realized my keys were in my backpack and the car was pointing out the error of my ways

I'm finding the wind deflector to be very disappointing compared to the clear acrylic one on my Porsche Boxster S. I know it's functional with the top down but did they have to make it out of mesh? Makes the view to the rear with the top up terrible. (Is that a cop behind me? Naa. Wait...that IS a cop!!!)
