Name Something You Discovered About Your F-Type AFTER You Bought it...
Try it. But seriously, I'm guessing that above a certain speed all you get is a door open warning.
I thought I've read through all of the owner's manual while waiting the long five months until delivery. But I don't think I've read anything about this following behavior...
Recently in a parking garage when really slowly rolling into a parking spot without any cars besides me I wanted to check how far or near I am to the divider line painted on the floor, so I opened my driver side door. And at that same moment the transmission switched to park and the car jerked to a halt!
what will happen if a passenger opens his/her door while driving off because maybe his jacket/her scarf got stuck in the door? will the car's transmission switch to park and lock the wheels while due to wet conditions the car swerves into oncoming traffic, WTF?! is this usual for AT? unsettling thought...
Cheers

There's a list of such things that I wonder about, but don't dare to try - like, what if you (or a child/passenger) accidentally hit "P" while driving; or, hit the top-down button when you're at highway speed?
I just discovered that you can hold the channel up/down button on the steering wheel and it will then progress to the next adjacent channel vs going to the next favorite channel. It is slow and requires holding it for a couple seconds before it changes but it beats having to cycle through channels using the touchscreen. I was annoyed by this for a year.
Top down (or up) will display a warning over 30MPH, but won't do anything else. But if you're raising/lowering the roof, and exceed 30MPH while doing so, the roof stops. I figured there'd be a speed limiter, but it just stops the roof operation until you drop below 30MPH again.

Perhaps that's because I have a Coupe?
On a serious note, I too gave it the quickest of thoughts of what would happen - I'm assuming nothing would; and, no, I'm not about to try - if one did hit "P" while driving at any speed?
Best regards,
Jay
Still curious what, if anything, would happen - I doubt anything as there surely must be a "Fail Safe" (great film, by the way) - while driving.
I haven't found any documentation, and I've wondered the same thing. I have technical docs for the transmission, brakes, etc. but haven't seen a reference to that.
You first. You could try it on an icy parking lot.

Let Mikey try it...

Ok, I can help out with this one. A couple weeks ago I was fumbling for the dynamic button without looking, at about 50mph, and I pulled the parking brake accidently. There was an alarm sound (chime or buzz, I don't remember) and everything continued as before. Parking brake seems to be disabled above a certain speed.

Actually, the parking brake has all sorts of special modes. Had you continue to hold it up, it would have brought you to a smooth stop.

We were talking about accidentally putting the transmission in 'P' while moving. The manual says to not put it in 'P' while moving, which is pretty obvious. But it's just a little button...
The EPB has the following operating modes:
•
Gradient dependent apply
•
Drive Away Release (DAR)
•
Static apply/release
•
High temperature re-clamp
•
Dynamic apply

+1. Very smooth and effective emergency brake.
I discovered that the button that adjusts the steering wheel can be rotated (rolled) clockwise. This results in the steering wheel automatically rising when you stop and exit the car for easier access.
Interesting. From your post I have just learned that turning it counterclockwise will stop the automatic feature.
I just realized the Temperature reading on the InControl app is not using sensors in/on the car... My garage is heated this morning for XPel install on doors and is at least 60 degrees. The app shows 36 - which is definitely close to the temp outside. I guess they are using the map location to look up the local temp.

I saw two days ago on my way to work (East Bay). The temp gauge was reading 4C at the time (yes, I have mine set for Celsius). At first I thought I'd accidentally engaged rain/snow mode.
