Talking New SVR on the way

Unfortunately this weekend a AAA contractor truck hit my XKR while it was parked in my parking deck. Did about 3k worth of damage to the right door and rear quarter panel. I was literally gutted, anyone on the XKR forum knows the time I put into that car.

After looking at the fit of the hatch and finding out they will have to use filler to fix it, will I hate filler so therefore I have decided to move on. Today ordered a loaded 2017 SVR that will be here on 8/1.

So it's mod time again and my HRE P101s look like a close fit and I'm confirming with HRE. I also have some ADV 1s if anyone interested as the fit a F type S perfectly. I'll sell those cheap like 1k.

So I'll probably go with coilovers, PSS and maybe a tune from someone trustworthy.

Either way I'm I went from being sad as can be to happy to be moving to the SVR, but I will miss the XKR.

Max, you will do just find on this side of the forum. Tune should put you mid to upper 600bhp. Coilovers I would wait and test drive the car, the suspension is certainly much better than in the XK series and I never felt it was insufficient, except of course if you want a drop. The Michelin are perfect I have yet to get a squeal out of the 305s when I try to go hard and fast and not try to slide. The wheels should be straight fit in stock form, I believe they are all interchangeable.

Did you order coupe or vert and what color combo?

Good to see you over here Max. I came over from the XKR into a 2015 F Type R Coupe a couple of years ago. No regrets whatsoever.

What color, wheels, etc, did you order on your SVR. Did you get the carbon ceramics? Can't wait to see it.

FYI I believe the stock 20"wheels have the following specs; however, I read the SVR is supposed to have wider tires and maybe wheels also.

Front 9J, 55 offset
Rear 10.5J, 38 offset

I'm also interested in the ADV 1s! Any pictures?

Hi guys! Luckily I caught one of two cars coming to my dealer and bought the coupe. I was going to change the order to black but after some thought I decided to stick with the Ultra blue for a change.

For options it has the ceramic brakes, CF roof, suede wheel, CF console, CF Spoiler, exterior carbon package, jet seats with blue stitching/piping and the Maelstorm wheels with locks. It has nearly every option except the leather headliner.

I'm sticking to my typical mods, lowering with coilovers, HRE wheels (mine may fit) but in a bronze color, and of course a pulley and tune.

If the wheels don't fit I'll be selling my HREs which are 20x9/20x11 which are ET45 and ET 40 respectively, but I also have the Black 10 spoke ADV1s which didn't fit my XKR but fit the F type S and maybe R depending on the offset.

I was really upset all weekend as I love my XKR with 8k miles but it is what it is, time to move on. Overall I have mixed emotions about it as I'm taking a hit losing the XKR and modding another car but that is life Now time to go after AAA as we have the incident on video.

The F-type should end up being the quicker car and with AWD you can use 600+HP, but I already miss the XKR

I'll get some pictures of the wheels up soon as I can get some measurements from an SVR. The rear knuckles are different and I'm not sure what else so offsets may be a bit different. I did some research but can't find the exact SVR offset.

Congrats on the order but a shame about the circumstances

Looking forward to seeing some pictures and seeing your progress with your mods!

Congrats on the car and welcome to the dark side of the F-Type. As soon as you choose the wheels let us know as I've been looking at a set of 10 spoke ADV1s for my F-Type. I have about a 2 to 3 week time frame to purchase so let us know what you decide. Thank you

Ultra blue is a looker. Congrats and hope you will enjoy this car. Your XKR was good looking car with the drop you had on it. SVR should fill the void!

Thanks guys I'm really looking forward to it, sometimes things happen for a reason. I was actually browsing the Ftype configurator two weeks ago just out of curiosity. This is going to be a long two months!

I will definitely keep you guys updated on the wheels, as soon as I find out the proper offset I'll make a decision.

Docmalone - The GM of the dealership is a good friend of mine. I've purchased three cars from him, and planning on trading my Range Rover in next year. He definitely showed me the same loyalty

Great! Several people here have been told no discounts and I am just wondering how aggressive to be. Is 5% reasonable for a "regular Joe" like me?

Hard to say, but when buying a new model it never pays to be first because no one knows anything about the supply and demand equation. 5% of the SVR price is not just pocket change.

It really comes down to the few factors, allocation, dealer location and overall production/sales volume. All of these can be positives and negatives.

In a major city, silicon valley you're probably paying over sticker. Smaller city dealers will tack on a ~10K fee, but when it doesn't sell for 6 months it will be under sticker. If you want a deal dealers in small cities are where I would keep an eye on. Just keep an eye on it for a few months as the excitement wears off and they will need to sell the car to keep future allocations.

The GT3s I looked at was 100K over sticker and the owner of the dealership is a friend! Here the market sustains that price as some guys come in and buy 2-3 of these cars and never drive them. Then when the supply has dried up they take them back to the dealer with 100-200 miles, ask 270k and get it.

I've also seen it have the opposite effect for example a local Jag dealer had a 2013 XKR-S that I wanted when I bought my XKR but they wanted sticker. It was on the showroom floor for 18 months unsold.

The first batch of cars will be tough to get under sticker unless you have a great relationship with your dealer. Long term it depends on production numbers and allocation. If the dealer had 5 allocations and none are pre sold you may get a deal, but we will have to see how the market plays out for the next 6 months.

Has anyone seen any estimated production numbers? If it's going to be limited like the XKR GT then it won't drop, but jag is saying this is a regular production car.

I did read an article in Forbes that mentioned "Jaguar plans to sell 558 SVR's in the US" but it wasn't clear if that was an estimate or a planned production run.
At any rate, even in the metroplex I only see an F-type once or twice a week. I like that there aren't dozens on the road in my area. I see many more Porsches. The SVR should be quite rare.
