Default Open car door and battery drain

Does leaving the car door open for an extended period of time (let’s say 2 hours) drain down the battery?

On the F-type and most modern cars, "no". This is because modern cars protect us from ourselves - in this case by turning off the interior lights after a while, even when they're left on by a door being open.

On the majority of older cars, even ones just 10 years old, yes it wound drain the battery but it would a lot more than 2 hours to kill the battery. Older cars didn't save us from these catastrophies.

I guess I had not realized that technology now has a role in such things as I had assumed the battery would drain. With all the talk of draining batteries on this forum I got a bit paranoid. Great to hear! Thanks!
