Open Trunk with Key?
Hi there, I've been dealing with battery drain after a service visit, seems pretty clearly like the issue I've read about here with OBD port and the energy management module.
I followed directions and disconnected battery, stepped on the brake for a bit to clear any capacitors etc -- and then before I left it for 30 minutes I closed the boot because it was raining.
So, now I have a car with disconnect battery and trunk closed. How can I get it open!?!? The normal button doesn't work of course, and while I can access the passenger compartment I still have no power. Surely there is a way to use the manual emergency key to open the trunk/boot/luggage compartment? Is there a key hole behind the license plate?

You are not the first owner to be in this dilemma and although the solution is not obvious I am sure someone here has solved it, search is your friend!
It’s complex but this thread has the solution, I believe. He gets his trunk opened in post 39 after applying power to a specific pin in a specific connector

Coz the battery has been completely disconnected.

I think connecting power to the front jump posts should work. Didn’t the other guy disconnect something in the trunk in addition to the battery? Note that a battery tender would not work, as those have to detect some voltage present before they turn on. You need a real 12V charger, or another battery (or jump from another car.)
