Had a couple of cosmetic issues I'd like to take care of.. Paint chip from a pebble or stone..Does this kit look decent enough? https://colorndrive.com/en/touch-up-...213999/details . If anyone has fixed any paint chips themselves would love to hear what you used. Also.. would this sort of repair be suitable for a novice? I have never fixed a paint chip before, what are some of the things that can go wrong?
Also.. got a door dent.... Got a PDR estimate of $300 - a reasonable price for those in the picture below? I was somewhat surprised, I was thinking more like $150. Appreciate your advice!! Thanks

The PDR service my dealer uses did a good job on my door ding. It wasn't bad enough to stand out except at the right angle, but it bothered me. I think it was $140. It's not 100% gone, but 99%. I'm satisfied.
The chip is fairly big, so I don't think a novice can really make that go away. You could at least fill the color though. I've got touch-up paint for three different cars from this company:
I've been pleased with the match. My dealer directed me to them because touch-up paint was not available through JLR. They have videos too, so take a look at them before making your final decision. The paint and "micro-applicators" works well on small chips, and I've used the brush in the bottle for bigger ones, but not in so prominent a location as yours.
Well, it sounds like this chip probably is not a one to start off repairing as a first go at it. Ideally I want to get it as flush with the rest of the area and inconspicuous as possible. Even though I want to start being able to fix paint chips, don't want a painfully amateur looking repair. And I think that's what I would do most likely . Any thoughts on what this would cost to have professionally done?
Yes was quoted 150 per dent so 300 for the two. Definitely can't do that repair myself..

I followed the techniques in this article on several cars. They all worked very well. Not perfect but good enough that you wouldn't easily notice if you didn't know it was there. A similar article to this came out years before this one was published but I don't remember where.
Just to prove that you are never too old to learn something new:
I liked the suggestion to use sandpaper glued to 'craft sticks' to prep the edges. My wife will be amazed that I am going to volunteer to accompany her on her next visit to Michael's.
