Thumbs up ProClip custom cellphone mount

FYI ProClip now produces a custom cellphone mount for the F-TYPE.

The product is here (you buy the mount, then buy a custom holder for your cellphone):
Jaguar F-Type 2013-2015 ProClip Console Mount*-*ProClip USA

Installation instructions are here (and I've also attached them below):
http://proclipusa.net/instruction.php?sku=834912

It's a pricey solution, but I really haven't found a good place to put my cellphone and I really don't like the generic windshield or air vent mounted products out there.

I've ordered it, will post a review when I get it.

Is there a mount that mounts to the passenger hold bar? Seems like that position angle would be better than on left side where you have to look down more.

There are clamp-style and pipe mounts (both on the ProClip site and elsewhere) which will clamp around the handlebar, but one of the things I like about the F-Type specific mount is, it's designed to minimize friction/scratches on the leather console. The clamp solutions will likely leave a mark on the handlebar.

Mount arrived a few weeks ago I forgot to follow up.
I'd recommend the solution. It's pricey but well crafted... Feels solid, and the custom bracket doesn't move around when the car is rattling around bumpy city streets

Can you post a pic of it in the car? It doesn't look that nice in the ProClip web site photo.
Thanks, Wayne

I ordered a 3D printer Friday and was literally thinking to myself that the passenger hold bar would be a great place to design a custom clip for the Ftype.

Would anyone be interested in something like that? There are all sorts of things you could make to incorporate into an Ftype that would look OEM.

I definitely would buy something that mounts to the passenger hold bar as long as it doesn't leave permanent marks.

The only cost would be to pay someone good with CAD to design it and then the charge for the filament which wouldn't be much. It wold be more than any other mount, but it would be made custom for the car.

build quality looks great on that unit but I am not so sure about the location, I think I may try to find like a bicycle mount (handle bar grip) and implement it on the passenger handle bar

Please let us know what you find?

The Tetrax mount the Audi guy above mentioned is very cool, but there is nowhere to mount it on the F-Type that I can see, mostly beacause of the vents that rise up. Also having a little magnet permanently stuck to the back of my iphone would be irritating.

from the photos, it looks too small for our hold bar.

I see a spot on the left side vent. They also make a semi-permanent sticker that you could place anywhere that the clip will attach to. As for your phone, there is no magnet. It is just a small disc about half the size of a dime. I still think it is the slickest and stealthiest of phone mounts, but to each their own.
