First post here, since being very active in the 997 Twin Turbo, Boxster S, and Cayenne S Forums. Recently got rid of a couple of Porsches, and thought I would try this F-Type R V8 out. So far I am liking it. Not as fast as my 997 Turbo, but plenty fast enough for now
At any rate, I noticed a rattling sound (sort of like something was loose and banging), coming from what appeared to be the top section of the Glove Box. I got in to the dash and put a Rattle Finder CD in the car and could not hear the sound.
Eventually, while playing around under the hood....I noticed that the hood does not/did not seat tightly when closed...(You can check by grabbing the edge right above the side vent and shaking up and down).
I figured how to adjust it, by the two nuts on the loop catches under the hood and adjusting up the rubber stopper. After a couple of turns on the nut, and the rubber stopper, the hood is still aligned perfectly, and the noise is completely gone!
Just thought I would offer that up for anyone having similar problems. Now, my next task is finding the fluttering noise that seems to be coming from behind the passenger seat at high speeds (90 - 100+). I know I could just slow down...But that's not
happening.
I thought a picture with labels may help. The nut turns to pull in the U shaped latch. Moving it in a bit tightens up the hood when closed...and moving it out, loosens the hood.

It’s counterintuitive. Turn nut counterclockwise to tighten the fit and clockwise to loosen.

If you want fast, Racechip or VAP tune and an upper pulley is $1000. This V8 S Racechip dyno has a pulley installed on all three runs.

Yep! Thanks Racer. Already ordered the RaceChip as a start. When my 100K extended warranty runs out, I will likely go with a full tune and upper (and possibly lower) pulley....and continue from there. On my 997 Turbo, I had about $30K in upgrades...Thus how fast it was.
I took it to some 1/2 mile Airstip events and could beat modified Crotch rockets, and most every car there. I am liking this Jag and the Supercharger and sound though! Even with a $6K exhaust, the Turbo still did not sound great....Just less bad. Down to one Porsche left in the stable now.
On this chart, can you tell me what the different run files represent? I assume 1 is stock/unmodified? But the other two are different levels of something? And assume WHP, not BHP? Thanks
Take care,
DC

Yes, Thanks. Since posting, I found a few pieces of information online, purchased and applied 3M Gasket/Moulding glue (they were actually failing) to the rubber moulding around the liftgate. Then "strictly for testing purposes" I got it up to over 90 MPH and no more noise.
