Rear Spoiler on SVR convertible
Hi guys, new to the forum and hope you can help. I have just purchased a pre owned 2018 SVR convertible. Not had much chance to drive it yet. Previously had 5.0 S 5.0 SC convertible.
1st question. If the rear spoler is down and i go into dynamic mode it goes up. If i go to nomal mode it stays up. Is this right? I thought it should go back down. Car stationary engine running.
2nd question. The drivers seat knocks and makes noises going over bumps and when you move in it. Is this normal. It didn't happen in my 2014 S. But the seats look at lot lighter with more plastic.
3rd question. Does the recess hole in the trunk in front of the battery have a cover. Mine hasn't got on but looks as if it is designed for one.
Thanks Vince

Hi yes goes up/down when driving with no problem. Stationary with engine running if you go into dynamic the spoiler goes up light on console on. Go back to normal.mode and the spoiler stays up, light on console on. I thought it should go down. You have to press the button to lower it. My 2014 5.0S went up Dynamic Normal mode went down?
I had the same confusion when I had an SVR convertible, and posted about it here:

If you scroll down to post 9, that’s when I had an explanation.
What’s weird is that I now have an SVR coupe, and I don’t think it functions that way at all. It’s much more like the R coupe/convertible. I don’t know why they made the spoiler function so different on the SVR convertible, but it may have to do with aerodynamic testing.

Welcome to the forum and Congrats on the SVR. Your 2018 SVR convertible is the only one in Glacier White allocated to South Africa for 2018 out of 7 SVRs that were delivered. I've sent a pic of your car that I have to your DM.

And why can't we see it?
Hi, where did you get that photo? I have replied to your email and sent photos. You say only 7 SVR was sent to SA in 2018. Is that convertible, coupe or combined? There are 4 2018 SVR coupe for sale on autotrader at present. The SVR convertible is very rare over here. I have only seen one other and that was owned by Jaguar and part of the Jaguar experience team. They have since sold it. Regards Vince

LOLOL correct. It was officially listed as Yulong White from 2018 forward. And yeah that was my intention but when I posted it earlier I was on a different device that was giving me trouble attaching the picture for some reason. Here it is . .found it on IG. Delivered to South Africa in early 2018.

Total SVR Numbers for South Africa below:
2017 - 30
2018 - 7
2019 - 5 - still not done with 2019 data so might be more
2020 - NONE
And i think I know which Jaguar Experience SVR convertible you are referring to. I've attached pic of it. It was replaced by The current Experience Cars are 2 2019 SVR coupes in beautiful and rare colors, Madagascar Orange, and Velocity Blue.

Also 2017 and 2018 SVRS are easiest to distinguish because 2018s have LED headlights as opposed to the HIDs that 2017s have. Attached is a screenshot of a 2017 listed as a 2018 at Sandton Jaguar
