Recommended Service during Oil Change - 2015 340hp
I just got notified by my Service Advisor the Power Steering Fluid and Brake Fluid are "Dark and Contaminated". They want $414 to flush and replace both. The car has 22K miles on it. It sounds a little fishy to me. Opinions?
I just spoke to a local independent Jaguar mechanic and he informed me the brake fluid flush may not be a bad idea but they are trying to take my money on the power steering fluid. His quote on the brake fluid flush is $175; dealer wants $255.
If it's never been done before, your brake fluid is overdue (every 3 years, regardless of mileage).
There nothing in the maintenance schedule about regularly flushing the power steering fluid, but on a MY15, I wouldn't rule it out.
Price seems high, but I'm in NC. My brake fluid job was $125. I haven't done the power steering.

I'm in the 3-year brake fluid camp. BF absorbs moisture, and you don't want to corrode expensive components like the ABS pump.
As for hydraulic power steering fluid, I do that around 100K miles on my Daily Drivers. It DOES have additives that lose effectiveness over time.
You can do it yourself: Buy a dollar-store turkey baster (or pump sprayer). Then suck out the fluid in the reservoir, replace with new stuff.
Do this repeatedly over the course of several drives, I usually put 24 ounces (two small bottles) of power steering fluid in.
If you have electric-assist power steering, that is a different type of fluid.

Brake Fluid: Use the recommended DOT4 LV (low viscosity) type. FPCEuro sells Pentosin DOT 4 LV as does Rock Auto.
Both companies also sell synthetic power steering fluid, but I don't know if Jaguar (or Ford) required any 'special' type. Pentosin CHF 202 and CHF 11S are sold by both; the viscosity and temp ranges differs slightly.
Ford seemed to recommend synthetic MerconV.
