Just got my yearly service done, cost me $130.00. My car now has 70,000 miles.
They came and picked it up (90 miles one way), dropped off a XF loaner car, changed the oil, performed a 30 something point inspection, replace a defective pass front window motor (would not go back up half the time, warranty), replaced battery (basically a yearly requirement with my car, warranty), washed it, and delivered it back to me a day later.
That was at Jaguar of Peoria, IL. There are still some good dealers out there.
I am happy spending $130 a year for that level of service. I still have 2 years and 30,000 miles left on my Jag Select warranty.
Just got the warning for a Service Request. My last service (oil change) was done at 15,500 miles on 4/14/14:
Oil Change
Brake Flush
The car now has 22,500 miles and the dealership quoted me the following service based on time/mileage. Minus the oil change are the other two needed?
Oil Change: $195.88
Power Steering Fluid Flush: $179.95
Induction Service: $189.95
If you had your brake fluid changed last year, you have 2 more years to go. I haven't seen power steering fluid change being required in the XF maintenance manual, nor have I ever heard of that for any car I've ever owned. I also have not heard of an induction service on the XF or any other car. I'm surprised these guys aren't recommending a snake oil change as well.
Look through your maintenance manual and have them do what is required and not other unnecessary items.
Thanks guys. Just got the oil change done by a local independent Jaguar shop for $100.00. They did identify a leak underneath close to the transmission case. Any ideas of what it could be based on the picture below?

Isn't your car covered by the usual 4 year warranty and servicing?
That's interesting. Mine's a MY12 as well and it came with 4 years of free service when I bought it new. I figured it transferred with the car but maybe not.
So I was just reading through the "Passport to Service" booklet and it states in that the 2012MY comes with a 5Yr/50K Warranty. See attached. I need to call my dealership and talk to them.
