Default remove parcel shelf? chasing rattles

I want to go on a hunt for some rattles myself because, frankly, I think that I will do a more thorough job than a service tech who doesn't get to drive the car every day. Does anyone have instructions for how to remove some of the interior cladding behind the seats, particularly the shelf?

I fixed one already behind the rear center access panel. There is a plastic piece that is probably part of the mounting hardware for the CD drive, directly beneath the armrest hinge. This piece had a good deal of mobility and was vibrating at typical highway cruising conditions (65-70 mph, 1800 rpm), in addition to going over bumps. Fixed it by wedging a piece of folded card stock in the gap. I can post a picture of this if anyone thinks they are similarly afflicted and need a visual.

Nati give a description of some of your other rattles just in case people have a fix already.

I Currently have one super irritating "ticking" type rattle behind the drivers head. Honestly sounds like morse code. Do you have the same? Struggling to find it.

Hopefully someone will give you the information you need for the interior.

I have that as well, and the hatch weather stripping creaks when entering slightly steep entrances.

I can't find the rattle, and some days its worse than others.

Shelf removal:
Unhook support string loops from pegs on C pillar. Drop shelf to almost horizontal position. Pull towards you.

Thank you, is this the part that most people complain about rattling?

I'm sure it could be many other things, but is this a common denominator for hatch rattles?

I don't think so. Take it out and see if you still have the rattles. I suspect you will.

If I'm not mistaken you're telling me how to remove the cargo cover. Maybe I used the wrong terminology. I am trying to expose some of the wiring guts around the speakers, amp, etc.

Ticking behind passenger's head. I think it's in the C-pillar.

Interesting! I knew there are a few owners with the same rattle also. Really hoping to get on top of it when i return to the UK soon. Jaguar have already looked round behind the drivers seat finding a few wires they thought could of been tapping the body however the rattle resumed.

Not to hijack Nati thread i'll be sure to post a new thread with the solution if i am the first i see with that information.

I have the same rattle as Nati. I've given up on the local incompetent dealership after the last fiasco. If you find a fix please post the remedy.

Indeed. I misunderstood. Sorry.

I found my rattle, its the vertical piece behind the console lid, and the other was the speak behind the passenger seat. I just pushed it in an it must have come un-clipped, which isn't surprising in a stiff car.

Other than that i just have the weather stripping rubbing a bit, but I'm sure there some lubricant that can be used which will not deteriorate the seal.

I'll check with the dealer Friday as my PSS should be arriving and I'm going to have them go over the car.

On this specific rattle:

That cover working loose on one or both corners is a common issue with the coupes. Once you've reclipped it it will be loose again on one side after a few trips. The clips are just not good enough to hold the piece in place as they only just meet the coresponding hole in the parcel shelf bracket. My dealer has reported it a couple of times to Jaguar so I suspect we'll see an engineering change for the clips in the future, but in the mean time I removed the clips entirely and stuck some little self adhesive magnets to the rear and then again to the mating part which holds it firmly in place. There is just enough clearance to align the magnets.

I'll give it a try and your probably correct as the rattle tens to change. I just may have to give in and deal with it, as I rather not have my interior stripped apart.

My ticking metal noise in the c pillar area is now on both sides. Probably has something to do with cooler temps in my area past couple weeks.

Checking again to see if anyone knows how to start removing interior trim without breaking anything in order to inspect.
