Rusty 2014 F-Type?
Hi everybody,
I am about to buy a F-Type in the next few months so I was looking at used ones and new ones. And yesterday I looked at a used one from 2014 and over 100.000km just because I was interested how such a car would look like. Because I mean it is not very old and many kilometers shouldn't really matter with the V8 engine.
But I was a bit shocked how rusty the exhaust was and some parts in front of the rear wheels. I forgot to make pictures of the exhaust tips but I made some from under neath the car.
I am not a car specialist nor did I see other older F-Types before but for 3 years it looks quite bad I think. My 5 year old Mustang looks better.
I attached the pictures thank you for looking at them.

I'm sure its been driven in the winter, and clearly there have been a decent amount of miles put on the car. Those miles certainly matter.

It's 47.000 Euros. Given that I could buy one with only half the kilometres for 10.000 Euros more, I think the price isn't that good. Especially since the interior is all scratched and so one. If they would have offered it for less than 40.000 I might have bought it and invested like 3000 in the interior to get it fixed.
Ha, right, of course... And most of it is alumin(i)um anyway, right? There was some integral part of the underbody that was rusting that shouldn't have been...
Don't forget the blinker fluid!

Quite a few cars over this side of the pond have gone back to the dealers to have this rectified/replaced.
It is a known issue, and if the dealer doesn't replace, then they will prep and finish it off like new again.
I covered mine in Quicksilver Corrosion guard form new, and recently put several liberal coats of Waxoyl on it...still looking good.

So if it is a known issue do you think they would fix that even when the car is out of warranty? Btw it should be still eligible for the Jaguar Approved warranty.
Thank you for all your answers I was just concerned that all Jags look like that after 3-4 years.
