I have an X Type estate registered October 2008. When fitting a towbar I found rust on the welds on the rear subframe. I contacted the dealer first and was told it was "typical" "to be expected" and "almost every car has rusty welds". I contacted Jaguar Customer Relations (surely and oxymoron) and they told be the rust warrantly extends to the body work but not "things bolted to it". At this time the rust is not a problem but in years to come it will be. As an engineer I told Jaguar that they have a process control problem in production but the apologist in CS says they don't. Well, if every car rusts, it is a process control problem: either the preperation or the paint is wrong. They point blank refuse to do anything about my car which I find unacceptable. Anyone else seeing this problem?
