Default The saga continues…

I have decided to ditch the H&R 15 mm spacers and have ordered a set of VAP 15mm spacers instead…
My car goes in September 28 for a set of H&R lowering springs and the above noted VAP spacers
My shop out of an abundance of caution is still a bit concerned as to whether or not there will be room in the back of the rims cavity for the spacer nut and cut off studs
Is there anyone out there that has used the 15 mm VAP spacers and my particular rims?
Any input would be greatly appreciated to ease my anxiety over this whole issue plus, I am running out of beer

Judging by the pics on their web page the VAP spacer nuts are fully recessed, like every other spacer I have ever seen or read about other than the weird H&R spacers.
All you will need to do is trim/cut/grind 3 or 4 mm off each wheel stud so those studs don't foul the backs of the wheels.

Never had any issues with H&R, as mentioned above just need to trim the studs back. The spacer nuts don't protrude the spacer itself.

That's what I thought until the OP posted a pic on a previous thread showing the nuts protruding by around 10 mm.
Maybe it will forever remain a mystery!

I don’t see an issue with the nuts protruding a little as they would simply go into the recessed holes of the back of the rims. If I remember correctly, the spacers I had also protruded a bit and I had no problems with the gyrodines rims.

I can’t tell from Mr. Fink’s (should I call you Rat?) picture whether there are recesses or not on his wheels.

Haha Rat or Fink is cool
Yes, appears there are small recesses…I enlarged the photo
I have not taken the rims off
So I am not anticipating any issues…

I found some photos and take it back, the nuts on my H&R spacers did stick out, but never caused a problem.

You can be sure by putting some wet paint on the back of the wheel, fit the wheel and tighten and see if there's any wet paint transfer onto the cut stud.

This now makes some sense to me.
I reckon H&R have gone down this track to ensure their spacers are reasonably strong and not prone to fall apart.
I say this because a few years ago I had cheap no-name Chinesium 15 mm spacers on the front wheels and one day while pootling along in the 'burbs one of them simply fell apart. It effectively tore itself off the wheel lugs with four of the five mounting holes splitting/tearing off.
I still have the remains of that spacer in my garage, and looking closely at it I can see that the thickness of metal left under the recesses in the spacer is only some 2 mm, which seems way too thin for strength/safety to me.
I guess the H&R spacers leave much more material in the nut recesses than that, probably closer to 5 mm, and that is why the mounting nuts stick out
