Am I understanding correctly that you're either swapping the V6 for a V8?
Wouldn't it be far less expensive, and easier just to trade up to a car that already has one?
Or are you going full fat rebuild to take some major boost?

+1. There's a lot more meat on the V6 to whittle away on. Hmmm...(3.8 L V6, anyone?) It still needs a beefier MT, but could use the pistons, rods and crank from the V8. I wonder if the V8 sleeves could be machined to fit. Also will need a TVS R1650 blower. This could get us to 550 horses.

Hey, go for it!
I'm quite sure you already knew an 'easier' path would be to buy a V8 car, but what fun would that be?!
I commend you for taking on a cool challenge like this. I for one, do not have the depth of skills to attempt something like this, but like others...i will be watching!
did't you have another vehicle to transport the parts in?!?!?

in for the entertainment value, but bloke just trade it on a v8
not sure if already mentioned, but unless you plan on keeping car for life, you actually stand to lose more money on the poor resale value of a bootleg v8 conversion than the balance moving up to a legit v8
edit! damn, just saw thread bump status, shame, we need some entertainment during lockdown

I know right? This was one of those projects you knew wasn't going to work but you kind of secretly hoped would. Would have made one hell of a story. Given how much reuse there is between models there was a slim chance, granted very slim, he could have pulled this off and had he, it would have been, wait for it, LEGENDARY!

Ultimately, probably 10x easier and less expensive just to drop a scrapyard V8 into a V6 car, than to build one into it.
