Default Shipping my NEW SVR!

Hi Everyone!

I put a deposit on a 2017 Convertible SVR and should be taking delivery in early November! I live in Los Angeles and the SVR is on the East Coast.

Does anyone have experience with shipping a vehicle or have shipping companies they would recommend?

I was thinking of doing closed transport, but is it worth the extra $$?

How much extra? Maybe you put the difference into getting a full clear protective film (xpel or similar) on the car before it is shipped to you?

I actually spoke to JP Logistics and the difference was about $500...$1,900 enclosed, $1,400 regular.

Theres a guy that does great work for the protective film, his name is BEMARO you can check him out on youtube.

Im not sure if i will do a full body protection or just the front, pretty expensive!

Its on a purchase, I wanted to lease but they don't want to apply the discount for a lease.

Yep. There was a white SVR coupe listed in Sarasota for $90K & it seems the ragtops bring more at least at initial purchase. If it were me, I'd pay the extra for the enclosed transport as you just never know when a hail storm is going to show up around this time of year. Better $500 of "safety" vs. a insurance hassle claim. It's a $100K car so an extra $500 is like drops on a pond

I have been looking around and convertibles are definitely going for more. My V8S was a convertible and it just the best of both worlds so have to go with another one.

Your definitely right, I will pay the extra $500 for piece of mind!

Definitely do enclosed. I went the cheap route and the hassle of hand polishing out the water spots wasn't worth it.

Sweet congrats! Yep did get that deal, mine is a standard panoramic hardtop though. Awesome car, more compliments in the F-type than anything else I have owned. You will definitely enjoy it. Again, congrats!

The only time I ever shipped a car was from Lingenfelter. If I had picked it up, I would have had to pay Indiana sales tax on the package so shipping was a better choice. Otherwise I agree with dave, go get it and have some fun.

Thanks Dave, I was considering it but don't really have the time right now, it would take me about 2days of all day driving.

Hey Larry, i'm not sure about the sales tax but I am in California and the svr in Oklahoma. They're supposed to send me over the info next week. So let's see what happens!!

+1. From where we are here on the east coast, OK is in the Southwest (maybe the lower Midwest). Dead nuts halfway between the two coasts.
