Default Small mod to stash phone ; warning MY 2019..

Two days ago I decided to close the cover of the central cup holder, with my phone inside.. It moved around while driving and ended up behind the cupholders, vertically, where the cover goes when opened..

Havoc .. ..couldn't open the lid and not get at my phone either.. Luckily a 'lean fingered' lady was around who thought of putting a finger of each hand on top/bottom of the phone and got it out !

So : DO NOT STASH YOUR PHONE ON THE CUP HOLDERS AND CLOSE IT !!!

To remedy this, and find a better solution, I sourced - weeks ago already- some nets with our chinese friends : phone stash pouch

[ also in the picture : The black bellows is to inflate my retrofit [ car upholstery company] manual inflatable side bolsters.. ]

Together with two usb-cables I now have on both sides a phone stash and link to usb...

Another reason to get an MT : no cup holder cover.

@Morgan52. But how do they link it to BT ; leave it open permanently ? Not very wize : excellent backdoor for hacking..

That’s exactly the issue I posted about! I used chopsticks to get mine out. I’m trying to just get in the habit of turning on BT as I’m walking to my car and putting my phone away so it can’t happen again. Granted I carry a purse and most of you probably don’t.

@Morgan52.

If you carry your phone in your pocket for 15yrs I won't be afraid for hacking of the phone....
...but more about what the short-wave radiation hacked in your body...

I keep it in flightmode whenever I carry it on me. Only switch it on in the car, connected with BT ,
or to WiFi in a building.

On the other hand : if its your practice for 15yrs , no much use in changing this habbit now.

@PBBarb.

I didn't find it with searching.. But yes , chopsticks are a great trick.. ..imagine how thin the fingers of the lady who recovered it for me are..

My first idea was a piece of thin metal wire. Bend it in a flat "U-shape" and slip it around the phone.. ..but she was quicker, so I never tried.

Concerning the radiation I have never thought about it,I don't want kids any more...
If you're in flight mode when carrying it how do you answer your calls and if you don't answer them, what's the use to have a phone?
And no I won't change my habit because I'm stubborn, just kidding...Do it like you feel it best!

@Morgan52.

For me its the 'luxury' I don't have to be reachable... .. and people know this. They send a WhatsApp or SMS and I just see it later..

I do worry about 4G and 5G , one of the reasons we live in a 'blackspot' in the centre of the Netherlands on the edge of a national forest...
