Default Sold Z06, bought this, lurked a few months, but hardly anyone runs a 275?

2017 V6 base model vert -- all tires that I refer to are michelin pilot sport 4 S.

my questions are silly, I second guess myself.. these past few months I read every wheel related thread I could find dated within the last few years and with what I learned both here and on previous cars, I ordered the following...

20x9.5 et44
20x11 et33

...am I pushing my luck with a 275/30/20 front tire, which has a section width of 10.9" as compared to the 9.6" of the tires I have on there now? I'm also concerned about the overall diameter of the tires, mostly in the front, since not going too big will help avoid rubbing at full lock. The base model is of course not AWD so I'm not for caring about any size difference front<->rear.

my current 18" rims front/rear have tires with a 26.7" diameter per the manuf. website, so that's what I compare all this to. I found ONE guy running 275/30/21 ps4s on his car which have a section width of 10.9 but nowhere did he mention his rim specs.

Don't mind a slightly larger diameter tire, it'll fill out that huge wheel well etc etc but again, rubbing at full lock demons rise up to haunt me. Rear tire should probably be 295/30/20 (27.02 diameter) or 305/30/20 (27.22 diameter, /sigh)?

So far this is my list, again, strictly PS4S;

9.5F diameter
255/35/20 27.02
265/30/20 26.32X 10.7" section width
265/35/20 x 27.32
275/30/20 26.52? 10.9" section width
275/35/20 27.62

11R
295/30/20 27.02X
305/25/20 26.02
305/30/20 x 27.22
315/30/20 27.52

I remember posting on one thread where someone had some rubbing issues possibly due to 17mm spacers and what I believe to be stock rims. don’t remember the outcome though after suggesting trying 15mm spacers. I know it’s not related to tire size itself but the info may help with what you are trying to accomplish.

I’ll see if I can find that post tomorrow once I’m on my computer.

here's the thread I was mentioned. he also had springs though...forgot about that but your suspension travel arc will be the same.

That's my thread that is linked above. The 15mm spacers haven't rubbed since I changed them so far. If you're running stock springs, you probably won't rub unless you really reach some road that bottoms out the suspension. At that point you probably have bigger issues.

Rogue,
You wrote, "The base model is of course not AWD so I'm not for caring about any size difference front<->rear."

I'd be concerned about this if you intend to drive the car hard in corners. Changing the contact patch sizes will change the traction available and the balance of the car. For example, increasing the traction in front without a matching increase in the rear will make the car more likely to oversteer at the limit.

I apologize if this is already obvious!

well, i was more referencing differences in size that generally aren't a problem either way.. if you'll notice in the list i posted, the biggest difference among combos I'm not even going to use is around 1 inch. I won't track the car, its a vert plus I have a motorcycle for that stuff.

The main question is this;

20x9.5 et44
20x11 et33

using the above custom rims, am I going to rub in the front with a 275/30/20 with the offset necessary for this sort of thing, yet a much wider section width, yet a slightly smaller diameter?

I'm already leaning toward playing it safe and using 295 in the rear rather than 305, but what fun is that?

assuming you've seen this thread before: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/f...wheels-209275/

in it, unhingd mentions 275/35-20 would fit up front but using an offset of 49.

I would play around with sites like this to see what happens: https://www.willtheyfit.com/index.ph...9.5&offset2=44

and most importantly, talk to your local tire shop and see if they can swap tires if they do rub. I've read that Discount Tire is pretty good about helping their customers. good luck and keep us informed.

Ah, yep, read that thread more than once. It seems he never updated his OP as he later required spacers. Much of what I've read is with those who have AWD, or CCB, or both, meanwhile I just have the base model : )

That website you mentioned looks interesting, gonna look closer tonight, thanks. I've been using mostly wheel-size.com and it seems the rims I ordered will work fine, just slightly on the conservative side. I thought this was the safest play to make because i can always slap 3mm spacers on there or something if need be.

The rims I ordered are from VSForged (picked them up myself, seems like a decent operation with multiple businesses/trade names in same building) and they took forever but were packaged/shipped well. Pics soon, when my old *** decides on tires. My brain isn't so fast anymore, ha.
