Default Somebody buy this very low mile 2016 R...

...or at least tell me what's wrong with it so I'm not compelled to buy it. The Carfax suggests it was repossessed for missed payments, then sold at auction a couple times. Windshield and tires replaced for some reason, and an oil change basically every time a new dealer has acquired it.

I plan on moving from my V6S to an R or SVR when my lease is up...unfortunately this guy will be long gone by then, or at least should be. Someone give it a nice home.

That car has an odd history and F Types depreciate very fast.

ALL luxury cars depreciate fast so its just like all it's peers. The price point is actually VERY close to wholesale so there is probably something there that we aren't aware of (like damage that was repaired without filling an accident report) so as always.. Buyer beware. No WAY I would consider it without a thorough inspection

The dealers seem to be treating it like a hot-potato. Perhaps it has some oddball quality to it, such as a noxious odour, which the buyers (dealers) only find out about after the auction.

I ran into a similar situation when searching for my R. IMHO, I would call Jaguar for the records, ask the dealer if you can bring it to another Jag dealer as well. Took me a year and a half to find the one I wanted (price and colors, options). Personally, I also think it's priced a bit high. KEY POINT - The fact that you would have three years left of factory warranty helps and you can also buy the extended warranty from Jaguar if they approve it. It must be inspected by Jaguar to be accepted for the extended warranty. If I am correct, Jaguar charges $300. for that type of inspection.

If they sell it for the advertised price they will make money. It is above wholesale. Curious as to why brakes are black calipers and do not seem to have Jaguar lettering.

Black calipers were an option, and the front anti-rattle clips do have the Jaguar lettering on them, it's just that it has faded a lot (mine was the same).

Personally, I don’t think their asking price is much of a deal if any. KBB has the car valued at under $70k. So if anything, they’re gonna make at least $5k off this car if someone actually buys it for the list price. IMHO, by the time your lease is up, there should be some way better deals for the R.

In this case this vehicle is NOT being offered by an official Jaguar dealership so NO, a buyer could NOT "buy the extended warranty from Jaguar" so that statement above is mis-leading... at best. Also, the costs for an extended warranty from Jag or a 3rd party often run THOUSANDS, not $300

When I was searching for my car, I found several from non-jag dealers with Jags. I called Jag and they said they charge $300. for inspecting the car-not the warranty. If the car met their approval after inspecting, then the CPO warranty costs several thousand. No intention of mis-leading

I actually got mine a year ago 2016 R with lighting, black pack, glass roof, Rhodium, MSRP was $110K + tax with 2400 miles. I paid 74K + taxes cash. Note mine had not even been registered so Im the first registered owner.

1 year in, love the car no issues. I did get my local dealer to do the TSB's for difficulty filling its up, scratches on the windows (seals and glass replaced) and a new tread plate, drivers side was loose.

I've changed the brake pads (low dust ones $200 Porterfield), added LED lazer Jags under the doors and LED's in the foot well + carbon fiber dash all DIY.

So I think I got a good deal

Your local dealer offering to perform a PPI (Pre-Purchase Inspection) for $300 makes sense so thanks for that clarification. Perhaps I read your post incorrectly so my bad there.

You appear to be indicating that a Jag dealer would be willing to CPO a car from a non-Jag dealer. Perhaps this is also me mis-reading as, to my knowledge, no Jaguar dealer is authorized to offer a Jaguar CPO for a car not sold off their own lot. Those that do offer a warranty for a non-Jag dealer originating sale are generally 3rd-party "extended warranties" that are available from any number of non-Jaguar sources. Although some people in the general public refer to them as CPOs, such extended warranties are not manufacture CPOs & often have significantly different coverage as well as differing requirements when making a claim. Some are very comprehensive while others aren't worth the paper they are written on so buyer beware.
