Exclamation Stereo question- A call out to Cambo

My first post here,

I have been searching in the forums to find the absolute guide for upgrade the 15 F type R 380w speakers, but I couldn't find anything that's vouched for. I tried to DM Cambo, but I don't think the forum supports DMs?

suggested upgrade (Merdian Signature speakers):
Tweeters: C2D30486
Mid-range: LR033293
Bass: LR047119

Long story short, I have been looking at THIS THREAD, and Cambo was talking about an easy upgrade for the door speakers by getting the Merdian Signature speakers (either from the Rang Rover, or XJ), and I had a couple of questions about this set up- It is worth mentioning that I am looking for an easy upgrade, with no modifications:
  1. is the upgrade worth doing?
  2. Do I need to dynamat the doors? currently I have no rattling issues
  3. You were talking about a PnP solution for upgrading the amplifier, are you guys done with this?
  4. what should I expect out of this upgrade?
  5. do you suggest any other speakers?
  6. I busted one of my sub-woofers? should i go with the OEM?
thank you in advance.

Ahmad--

It does, but you have to have made a number of posts before it's available to you (I think 5 or 10?).

I am looking at doing the upgrades on my 2016 R with the 700w system in the near future as well.
I would say that if your going to go through the trouble of doing this, you should definitely install the Dynamat or equivalent. Your already going to be there and the stuff not only reduces rattles, it tightens up the base response as well.

Thanks, max. Do you have any link for the Dynamat? There are just many variants and sizes

thanks.

It's weird, I just called Jaguar and they informed me that upgrading the speakers will void the warranty of electric circuitry?!

They just can't void your warranty, they have to prove that a modification you made caused a problem you are trying to have repaired under warranty.

Resurrecting a year old thread but regardless, that only applies in the United States. The OP could be anywhere.

Good point didn't consider that. Sucks that a dealer can hide behind that to get out of doing any warranty work, that protection should be available to everyone and speaks volumes about JLR company as a whole.

I don't think JLR is unique in that respect - some years back I had a Fiat whose driver's seat belt kept locking when parked anywhere but dead level. I took it back and complained but they checked it and said "that's how it's supposed to work". So, all innocently, I said "well you'd better replace the passenger belt then because that's clearly faulty as it doesn't do that." They changed the driver's seat belt.

I think we all know that, across the industry, there are good dealers, bad dealers, and downright dishonest ones. They're the first gatekeeper for any potential warranty claims. Bad ones will do what they can to weasel out of work they don't get full payment for, or just not put in the effort to go to bat for their customer. Dishonest ones will want to get paid for unnecessary work, or work that wasn't even done. Unfortunately, not everyone has convenient access to a good dealer.

I haven't dealt with JLR directly because I have a good dealer and a Service Advisor that is honest and looks after me.
