Default Sun Visor cap

Hey all,

I'm trying to find a new sun visor cap. The black plastic cap at each end of our visors. Once of mine keeps falling off.
The # printed inside the cap is PA6-GF15
But that number doesn't show up anywhere on a search.
Where do you guys look for parts? I don't have a dealer near me at the moment.

Thanks

Unfortunately that number only identifies the polymer used in the moulded part. As with most other Jag parts you’ll probably need to order the entire visor assembly to secure the sub-assembly part desired.

A discrete dab of clear RTV might be the most expeditious and economical way to keep it in place.

I would actually suggest hot glue as it is easier detach and reuse in the future if needed.

I suggested the RTV because it is easy to detach later. It's got no appreciable weight, so a very small drop should do.

Either way, I woulddn't buy a new part for this kind of issue.

Agreed. Either would work fine.

Inquiring minds want to know: WHY would we ever need to detach the end-cap?

(Re-attach after it falls off, yeah...)

I have one that falls on it's own.
It appears that the headliner is not glued properly around the visor's mounting point and pushes the cap out.
I'll fix that easily by gluing the headliner as it should and the cap will snap in place.

One of mine dropped off the first time I used the visor, three days after I picked up the one year old car. Dealer replaced it, no problem.

To make it easy to remove the incredibly annoying "safety" stickers on the visor, that's why!
I have a thread or post around here somewhere about that, it takes lots and lots of scraping and rubbing with isopropanol to get those damn stickers off, and it's waaay easier to do with the visor removed from the car than it is to do it in place.
To get the visor off you need to flip those caps off to access the mounting screws underneath.
I had zero problems putting the caps back on, they both clipped firmly back in place and haven't budged a micron since.
