Default Supercharger oil capacity question

I have my supercharger off the car. I drained the oil and got about 75 mil out. I tipped it every which way but loose. There was nothing coming out at this point. All posts on this topic say to put 150 mil back in. I bought a 150 mil syringe and filled it. But I can only get about 120 mil in before it starts to come out.

Are we 100% sure its 150 mil for the v8? If I put that much back in I will need to tip it up so the oil doesn't flow out.

Any suggestions? I'm ready to reinstall it and get back on the road.

Thanks.
Scott

Not sure how they get that much in if you're not removing it and tipping it up. On mine it's not possible.

Hi Scott,

I would loosely reinstall the oil fill plug, set the S/C on a level surface and rotate the shaft numerous times to help distribute oil on all the moving parts. Then remove the plug and add as much oil as you can until it runs out and consider the job done. I think I've usually needed one 4 ounce bottle of ACDelco supercharger oil plus part of another bottle, so at 120 ml you're getting close. Do be certain the S/C is actually level...

Cheers,

Don

@Don B That's what I ended up doing. I had the supercharger level and filled it until it just started to fall out. I even put the plug in and turned it on end and upside down and spun the blades. I let it settle out and couldn't get any more in. I think I'll be fine. Thanks.

@2000JagLvr 150ml of oil is the correct amount of fluid for a initial fill.
