Question SVR Active exhaust issue

Hey guys, I just traded my 16 FT R for a 17 FT SVR and was wondering if anyone has come across any vacuum line diagrams so I can see why my active exhaust is not working. They are open all the time but yet it sounds more "muted" than my 16 R. I was told by the previous owner and confirmed where it was serviced that they did not install the update to reduce the exhaust sound and I have checked the fuse for active exhaust and it is not "blown". I printed out a active exhaust system overview bulletin from Jaguar and it states that it is for MY 14 thru 16 and that the older ones had a solenoid attached to a vacuum pump and then read that the 17 MY now pull vacuum from engine. Anybody have any advice for me? The valves move somewhat freely, so they are not "rusted" but do not know enough about location of components in the SVR world. Thanks for any insight.

The default is open and as you say they move freely so maybe your system is working as intended. If there was a vacuum line issue then you wouldn’t be able to close the valves and be stuck in loud mode all the tiime. This is the opposite of what you are complaining of.

But wouldn't there be a noticeable sound difference when I turn it off vs on? Just comparing to my R.

in my MY18 R the actvie exhaust button is ineffective until 1500 rpm so no noticeable difference at tickover. The dynamic switch makes a very noticeable difference though. It appears the exhaust operation varies with MY in a seemlingly random way!

Thank you. I guess I was just used to the 16 R. This is a totally different beast!

Can you find a wrecked one to swap it with ? That would probably be the cheapest route. 2000 seems like a stupid amount for an exhaust valve, have you looked into buying the part yourself or see if there is an aftermarket replacement

FIXED! Apparently the fuse #43 was not seated properly and thus would not allow the flaps to open/close. All is well now and I am a happy camper! Thanks for the advice.
