Is there much difference between 2016, 2017, and 2018 F types?

Default Is there much difference between 2016, 2017, and 2018 F types?

I found two identical F-Types, one is a 2016, and one is a 2018, They both have the same mileage, 10K. Both AWD, both 8C, and both fully loaded. The 2018 has a CPO with 3 years left on it, the 2016 does not.

The 2016 is 50K and the 2018 is 70K.

Is it worth the 20K difference? What are the real differences in these two vehicles?

Very, very little unless ipad-like functioning of the satnav screen figures largely in your life.
In automobile terms: appearance, powertrain, performance, unending FUN,....they are essentially identical.
Having a CPO warranty is a good thing but having to spend $20,000 to get it needs to be considered because the chance of your having to spend $20,000 on repairs is very low.

100% go with the 16'. The CPO badge definitely not worth the difference here. Maybe $5k tops. I got my 16R in June 2019 and the CPO warranty's active till August 2023, haven't had to use it once.

As Sov mentioned a main difference is in the Sat Nav. By golly if you took out the screen and infotainment in my car I would love it just as much. Sometimes the old system is infofrustration, but it doesn't matter for me. I guess it depends on your priorities and what's important.

Another change they did in the front was changing from the vertical shark gill type design to a horizontal for a "more open' look. I gotta say I'm in the camp who prefers the original design

Why not park the saved 20k, 99 times out of 100 if not more you wouldn't spend that on maintenance in just 3 years, odds on your side..

I think there were 2 versions of the infotainment in the '16 model. One was the old one with a screen that mimics the newer one (4 tiles on homescreen, hard buttons to side), and the second was the newer one. Mine was built at the end of 2015 and has the newer one (and EPAS, both of which were new in the late 2015 builds for Australia at least), which I think is better. We have the '18 version (with the bluey green slidey screen) in our XE, I actually think it is harder to use though it does have more apps and looks better.

Agree re the horizontal gills, I prefer the originals though I suppose you could always wrap them.

MY18 was the "mid-cycle refresh" so there were a host of mostly (minor) cosmetic changes. The LED headlamps in the '18 are excellent and as others have said, the connectivity options and head unit were improved. $20K seems a big delta between the two though....are you sure they are configured the same?

I agree that there's not a lot of difference across the 2016-18 model years. The updated infotainment system is one definite difference - bigger screen, newer interface - but I can't say that that would mean that much to me, personally. Unlike some of the other comments, the price difference doesn't surprise me. Basic depreciation is at least 15%/year, so $20k for two years doesn't seem out of line, especially when you factor in the added 3 years of warranty coverage.

Infotainment, not a big deal. You can always upgrade with a android unit or UniqueAuto unit for around 1K. Probably the only thing of note is the upgraded headlights, I'm sucker for LED lighting. As for the warranty, how much is it worth to you in terms of peace of mind? For me, definitely not 20K. But up to you.

I don't know how it is in the US but in Europe the models that came starting late 2018 were fitted with a gaosline particulate filter which dampens the sound somewhat, so cars before that are definitely a bit louder.

If you decide on the 18 can you provide the link on the 16? I've been looking for 2 months and cant find a 16+ R that cheap with that low of miles.
