Default For those of you tracking ships

I watched this a while back, but it's a really fine documentary on the mind-boggling scale and operations of the WW carriers that transport Jaguars (and BMW, mini, etc) over the Atlantic and Pacific.

The footage on the inside of the ship is awe inspiring!

Saw it also, great. Tracking ships.... a real obsession here. I need to find in stock or already in transit or on another dealers lot. Too many unforseen varibles. Dealer can get different info every time he checks.

Incredible! Thanks for that.

Brings to mind and makes one appreciate - marvel at - the thousands (millions!) of moving parts, literally and figuratively. Including all the pieces, and people, from designing and building (our) automobiles to shipping them and everything in between (never mind before and after).

Like I said, incredible.

I agree. These vessels are incredible.

The Panama Canal is currently being expanded to accomodate New Panamax sized ships in 2016. These ships are massively larger than existing Panamax sized vessels.

When that happens these carriers could get even larger!

Yeah, a really old thread, but this was what I found on tracking cars on cargo ships, and I didn't want to start a new thread.

Hope none of you are waiting for a Porsche or Bentley...

I vaguely remember a ship carrying Jags that sunk or ran aground some years ago.

There is presently a car carrier full of Porsches on fire and drifting crewless south of the Azores in mid Atlantic.
I guess Porsche prices are going up!!
