Default Time to let the Jag go to a new home

I've owned my '21 type R for nearly two years now and while I love the car, I really need to get something a bit more practical in terms of space. So I'm visiting a Gensis dealer today to get a quote on a trade in for a G 70 with the 3.3 engine.

My type R has 35k trouble free miles on it (except for the occasional "sos feature not available" due to the telematics battery needing replacement). I put new tires on the Jag back in October so they have plenty of tread left. I hope to get around $54,000 on a trade in value so we'll see what happens.

Anyway, I know I'm going to miss this car and it's 575 hp thrills.

Good luck. I had a 2022 RWD Genny 3.3. It is an awesome car. Not the power you currently have, but a lot of fun, and will get tail happy with RWD version. Tires will wear quickly since they are different sizes. I replaced mine about every 8 months. Usually around 28k miles. The Firestone firehawk Indy 500 tires worked great for a lot less than the ps4 tires that came stock. Grip equaled out around 3k-4k miles. Stiff sidewall great cornering. With the power of the Genny they are great. You will enjoy the car.

May I suggest cross-shopping a new XF P300. Better looking car, IMHHEO.

Can't keep the F-Type and get a practical SUV too? We're a family of 4 and have three cars with two Subarus (Outback, CrossTrek) and the F-Type and we live in a townhome with a two door garage. The Subarus are for transporting our children and pets while the F-Type is my fun car and is used for date nights with my wife

I didn't want to get a fancy SUV because its gonna get trashed by my children and pets whereas it won't happen with the F-Type since it has no back seats for them to trash up, lol.

Weird transition from a Jag F-type to a Genesis.

I think they look great with the exception of the massive grill. Unsure what the new ones look like but the gen with the huge grill is too much for me.

I owned the first generation G70 3.3T and the second generation as well. Fantastic cars. I left mine for the F-Type but still miss it. Such a capable car and very dynamic. It's also become a monster in the tuning area with some cars making as much as 1000hp. The 3.3T is very reliable as is the rest of the car. Some early gremlins that Genesis solved quickly. The 3.3T is thirsty, and no better than your F-Type R.

Enjoy it and if you have any questions, I know the car inside and out.

I'll heading to South Carolina (from Raleigh ) on Thursday to pick this one up. I'm looking forward to the experience! I got an offer of $51400 from carmax for my Jag and this dealer said that they would match it.

You lose a few things not going to the Sport Prestige trim. Namely, the electronic suspension, limited slip differential, heads up display, Napa leather, Micro suede headliner and suround view monitor.

Have you already put a down payment?

Oh, I see what they did... They said "Advanced" and then said it had the sport prestige "package" - they are just levels, not packages. All good then!

You'll love the car!

It's a good thing I didn't put down a deposit on the car. While I was still in the negotiating stage, with the dealer in South Carolina ( a three hour drive away) I thought I would take one last look around the internet to see if I could find this same car and lo and behold, the same model, with the same color and package, but with 2000 less miles, pops up at a dealer much closer to my home! Plus their asking price was $3000 lower!

So yesterday I negotiated a good price for my Jag on a trade and ended up buying the car. I just got it home last night. I love the car! I was able to get 25mpg cruising on the interstate while in eco mode. Surprisingly I really didn't feel much lack of power in eco mode.

Today my goal is to lean all the various modes on the car and configuration of all the controls.

if you're not in a big hurry and just cruising down the interstate it will save you a few mpg's with no significant loss of power

My quesrtion isn't what it's supposed to do, it's how do you select it since I've never seen an "eco mode" in any F-Type. Do you mean enabling the stop/start?

Edit: Ah, I see we're not talking about an F-Type.

So this is what I picked up. A 2025 with just 6k miles on it. I got it for around $12k under original sticker. I just had my local tint shop do their thing and now it's complete. I have to say that while I will miss the jag for the thills, this car is far more comfortable, has more advanced features and is a lot of fun to drive. The dealer gave me $51500 for my car so I walked away with the G70 and a check for over $6k.
