Tire Load Specs - Base V6
Apologies if this has been done to death already.
The stock Conti Contact 2's (rear) on my car have a load rating of 103.
When I search for new tires, the results are pretty restricted as I am guessing the specs are based off the OEM load rating, however, the 19 inch results produce many more tires as the OEM tire load rating is much less, 99 or so.
I can not find any info or data from Jaguar regarding the min spec, just the tire sizes.
The Contact 2's are getting pricy compared to newer versions (Contact sport and Contact 3's) and the newer speed ratings are higher on some of the comparable tires.
Am I high in thinking that it's OK to get a lower rated tire? I live in CA so I don't need the wet performance of the Conti Contact 2's and would like to give the Contact Sports a go - and they are $100 cheaper per tire.
Thoughts?

Unless you’re carrying a whole trunk full of gold pressed latinum bars, load rating in the mid 90s and up is totally adequate. The speed rating is what you need to focus on. Warp 8 and up is recommended.
