Default Trunk doesn't automatically raise with trunk open button on fob?

Stupid question... the remote on my 2017 base F-type has a button to open the trunk. When I press it a sound it made but I still have to manually raise the trunk. Is this normal or something that is broken?

On my 2014 convertible ... The trunk only unlocks, but the lid raises only 1/2” or so. You have to raise it manually.

It depends on the options that were added to the car. If whoever ordered the car didn't order that option, the trunk button will only unlock the trunk for you to manually open it.

Do you have a coupe or a 'vert?
If a coupe, there was an option for electronic auto hatch raise. Not sure about the 'vert but I suspect there is/was no such thing.
The coupe auto raise version has the leccy motors in the struts and they are much thicker than the non-auto version.
So if you have a coupe check the struts.

The hatch on the MY16 coupe with convenience package option will fully open and close with the fob button. It’s the first time I’ve tried using that button in the 5 years I’ve owned the car. The fob is usually left buried in the bottom of a pant pocket.

Thanks for the replies. I have convertible. I don't think I have the convenience package - so I guess it's normal then. Thanks again!

I don’t believe any Vert had a power trunk lid.

I don't think they could have made a power strut small enough for our little bitty vert trunks!
