ugh lost keys
lost my keys while I was out of town on business. Also, my car is in my garage.
Where are some points on the chassis I guess the tow truck can hook a chain to drag it out...
How much is the average replacement? Any ideas?

All in, it will probably cost 250-400 bucks for a new fob and programming. They should be able to do that without having the car. No good place to hook onto the car other than the took hook which of course is locked in the car. But the rear wheels will still be locked, so they can’t even get it up on a flatbed. I guess a real tow truck could scoop up the rear wheels and tow it on the front wheels if the car hasn’t been lowered. Best to just get a new fob programmed before trying to move the car.
Don’t you have a spare key fob?

When I called the dealer today they said they required the car. I don't think there is any way to get it out of my garage without hurting my baby.
Can someone confirm do they need the car?
If you have the car hooked up to your Jaguar app you can unlock the doors and remote start it....?
I think the dealer is correct, the car has to be there with any and all keys present in order for the programming to be done. At least the case with my XFR adding an extra key. I keep separate F-Type keys in different places as it's not a cheap fix....I think the keys are around $300 plus an hour shop time for programming.

As yours is an early build it should be possible to program keys to the car without replacing the Keyless Module.
Cars delivered to a dealer from March 2015 had a software update that makes the Keyless Module read only, so the module needs replacing in order to program new keys to a car. (SSM73234 if you google)
But yours is prior to that and the regular aftermarket key programming tools that locksmiths have should still be able to do it, as well as the dealers SDD tool.
Call around the local automotive locksmiths, see if anyone has a key programming tool that covers Land Rover &/or Jaguar up to 2014.
I guess the dealers won't make house calls, although they should be able to program keys anywhere they have internet access to get the SDD online.
The official key programming process requires a minimum of two keys to be programmed to the car, so if you have none, then you should get two new ones.
There are also some sneaky hacker key programming tools, like the "JLR Doctor" which have been purchased by legit automotive locksmiths.
If you can find a guy local to you with a JLR Doctor, he can program new keys in a matter of minutes. I know a locksmith in Sydney who has one, so I'm sure there would be lot's of them in the US, it's just a matter of finding them.
But regular aftermarket key programmers should still work on your car too, call around the local automotive locksmiths, Land Rover and Jaguar have the same system, they might have worked on Land Rovers before, just not a Jag yet.

2nd the automotive locksmith idea - at least try them first... They have all sorts of electronic gadgetry.

Can't speak to key replacement on your F-type, but moving a locked vehicle out of your garage is easy with the right tools. In the antique and classic car world, its not uncommon to find a car with lost keys or that won't roll simply because its been sitting in the BARN for 30+ years. You could ask around your local Jaguar club and find a recommendation for a tow company that specializes in moving classic cars. They will have wheel dollies for such extractions, something like this:

But if you can get somebody to come out to program new keys, that would be better. Good luck.

Unfortunately, I have no answer on the key situation, although I'm going to go look back through my paperwork because the dealer I bought from added some sort of policy for free key replacement and I want to see if I says if they need my car or not. So maybe once I look through that, I might have an answer, or possibly just more questions.
Unless you have the wrecked or flooded car to which the key belongs, you're just wasting your money and time....
That's Hennessy owned too, right? Mine is currently at the Buckhead location (we will see how it goes for getting Vivien back tomorrow and if she's really fixed this time). That's why I was curious too about issues with service departments. I kind of thought all three were the same ownership though. I don't know, I don't get out to Gwinnett or Alpharetta often and I've only had a Jaguar since March. A friend of a friend of mine has an independent shop that does JLR and after my warranty is out, that's where I'll be going, but for now I'm pretty much stuck with one of the three.
Hi. I am new to this so bare with me.
i also lost my keys to Jaguar F-Type 2015. It is my baby. It is in my garage ( thank God). I do have those cards they give you when I purchased it.
My question, even with those is it going to cost me an arm and a leg to get new one?
i am beyond upset about it.
Thank you for any help.

As it was told before, never ever keep both keys together. If you lost one, what arrive not every day, you can always use second and wait for a replacement.
So as far away they are from each other, better it is. For all cars. Without an alternate location, I would prefer to bury it in the garden.
But also what will happen with the metal emergency key ? Did Jaguar has the numbers and can provide new one ?

Those cards just ensure that the new fob will be programmed to your car and the enclosed emergency key is cut correctly. They also entitled you to get the fob at full retail price (yes, very costly).
If anyone lost their car key they should contact any local or online car key cut services for that, Last month i also lost my jaguar key and then contact this car key cutting in London here. They made a duplicate of the keys, programmed them for my car.
