I know that there are other threads on removing the resonators on a V6 but I haven't seen one with a X pipe. This car does not have Active Exhaust. The exhaust change has made the car marginally louder and I believe a slightly lower tone. I could tell a modest change in driving it with the windows up and down. The pipe was fabricated by a local muffler shop by joining two 2.5" pipes together for about 2" at a cost of $150 and is easily reversible. There is not enough separation from the stock pipes to make a true X so it is more of an H.
I also have before and after videos in the same place and conditions showing start up, revs to 4000 RPM and hold at 3000 RPM.
I really like the exhaust sound with the resonator removed. Do you have any pictures you can share? I'm curious to see what the H-Pipe looks like.
Is there any drone in the cabin at all? I'm thinking about doings something to the exhaust and can't tell whether a muffler delete or resonator removal would sound better.
I don't have pictures but he patterned it after this picture. The pipes are less than 1" apart so there was less bending than this picture.
No drone at all. The sound change more noticeable behind the car than in it. I wouldn't want it any louder but don't mind it all of the time.
