Default From a V8s car to a R awd car

I had my 2014 v8s for 6 yrs. before selling it in late 2020. Loved the car but it was showing its age in some parts, and I also needed the space in my garage for another car I wanted. Not too long after that I realized how much I missed it, so I’ve been on the lookout for a replacement ever since. I gave up on the private parties route after finding only white or black cars and I wanted some colors in my next vehicle. I came across this BRG on CarMax and ended up buying the car there. It’s a 2016 awd car with 18k miles, and came with a 5 yrs. bumper to bumper warranty from Carmax. The buying experience from CarMax was terrific. The transaction took 25 minutes and there was no pressure to buy extra add-ons like under body sealant or cosmetics junks like you would get at most dealerships.

Now that I have had the car for a few months, here are some quick observations:
-The 14’ car feels more violent because of the rear wheel drive, but the 16’ is noticeably faster off the line.
-The steering feels in the 14’ is better to my liking. There’s a slight vagueness in the 16’ at slow speed.
-Exhaust sounds in the 14’ car is about 20% louder, and the pops and bangs are more pronounced. The 16’ sound great if you have never had the older car. Oh well, it still sounds way better than the 21’ and up cars.
-The updated infotainment system in the 16’ car is quicker to response.
-Traction is way better in the 16’ car due to its awd. I’m finding myself going much faster in the 16’ car -on the same roads- than I did in the 14’ car.
-The suspension is a bit more comfortable in the 16’ car, and it handle bumps better.
-The seats are more cushioned in the 16’ car.
-The side skirts are way too big on the 16' car. I would wrap them in black if it was a lighter color car.

If I end up keeping the car after the extended warranty runs out, I will likely go full VAP mode and max out this baby with hp. Until then, it’ll stay fairly stock.

Here are some photos of my old car as well as my new car.

I love the color combo-congrats on the car. I have a 2016 as well and I ran into a similar issue trying to buy from a private party. I appreciate the comparison since I never had the pleasure of owning a rear wheel drive R.

+1 on the color combo. If I didn't get a Firesand on black that is the combo I would have gone for.

My 2014 R is significantly louder than my friend's 2018 R, to the point where he took his car back to the dealer to see if the exhaust was ok.
I love the RWD edginess of my car, but the way the AWD pitches like a powerboat off the line looks epic.
As another point of comparison, I know someone else with an XKR-S, and that car seems to attempt to kill him at every possibility. I think the RWD F-types are the perfect middle ground between frantic and capable.

It's crazy to think that the these cars could be louder, but earlier models are absolutely in a league of their own.

I added VAP 200 Cell Cats/downpipes and VAP Stage II tune (and a bunch of other stuff) to my AWD R, and it is as loud and pops as much as anyone could stand! It is like a hooligan machine now...Sounds awesome!
