Default what the fu... Hazard lights stuck on...

So the other night I'm driving with a buddy of mine and I keep on noticing my Hazard lights keep coming on and I just assume its my jackass buddy messing with me. I wasn't paying much attention to the switch. He keep on telling me its not him, 2-3 times later I stop at a light and i'm messing with some settings and I see the switch start blinking on its own, turn it off assuming it was a weird glitch, a few minutes later, its on again, I turn it off, 30 seconds go by, on again, so I press the switch and nothing. After 30 seconds it turns off, then back it goes. I pull over, turn car off, wait a few seconds while its off the lights go on. and me pressing the switch does nothing.

drive to my buddies house with them on, turn car off, wait an hour come outside to them on again. Finally Disconnect the battery, wait half an hour. second I put it back in, Hazard lights back on, and this time passenger side window won't roll up. and my drivers side won't lower to clear soft top and can't close door with window up. Rear spoiler won't raise either. Next morning get in, no hazard lights, everything works except automatic up windows, drive to dealer, show them the video, they say they can't do anything about it since it's not happening right now. Waisted 2 hours driving to the dealer and back. drove all day today and no issues. Some background. Been on vacation, Car was sitting for 2 weeks, and its been raining, car is parked outside but not getting directly rained on so I don't know if that has any correlation, Any ideas?

I bet you haven't changed your blinker fluid in a while... Serves you right.

Low battery problem? Also I think the dealer response was lame and shouldn't stand.

Almost certainly it is a battery issue - low voltage triggers all sorts of random symptoms in modern cars, symptoms just like this. Do you use a battery maintainer (CTEK?) when the car is not in use?

Wouldn't that make a bad battery less likely since the car SHOULD be running off the alternator?

Jags don't have the 'gas-saving' charging strategy (like Hondas and some BMWs) that reduces charge cycles and results in the car running on the battery occasionally, do they?

I'd buy a battery-monitor for the power socket just to see. (Some USB power-points come with a voltage display. So do some radar detectors. )

No; the random symptoms of low battery voltage show up very often when the engine is running, especially the symptom of odd warning lights...it can be the TPMS lights, the cruise control not available light, the restricted performance light, the touch screen freezing, the seats or windows or convertible top not operating properly...all of these and many more have been shown to be symptoms of less than optimal battery voltage to the modules.
In all of the above cases (again, and many more) nothing is wrong with the car other than an undercharged battery because age, dead cells, lack of use of the car, short runs...

Don't get blinkered into thinking it's a rain sensitive issue...this is a key indicator of the low battery hazard! ;-)
