What vehicles do you regret getting rid of?

I have owned 4 Saabs. My 1987 SPG was killed by a wrong way driver and even after that accident, the car was able to drive to the repair shop. At 156k miles, the only significant work I had done was replacing the clutch.
My 1991 9000 CD had a serpentine belt let go in the middle of nowhere. I was able to drive it to safely, 70 miles, with no issue.
My other two Saabs, a 1991 900 CE convertible and a 2002 9-5 Aero were equally as solid. I sold my 9-5 to a friend who gave it to his son to drive through high school. It then passed to the next kid as his high school car. If two teenagers can't kill it...
Top Gear tested out a Saab and found that it was so strongly built, it didn't need a roll cage.
Anyway, I'd drone on about the cars, but the only Saab story I know is that they couldn't survive economically.

I am going to say, I hate the OP for this thread and yes I am kidding!
63 split window corvette (WHY did I get married)
68 Charger 318 w/center console
70 Cuda 383 Banana yellow (fully restored by me, sold to help out my daughter and zero regrets)
75 Dart Sport 360 with about every option ( 1 of 249)

Offense taken about OP-joking! And you had a 63 split window? Wow-let's hope you are still married to your wife for that one because if not, that would be a very hard pill to swallow. I did similar with my second and last attempt at marriage. She hated my 911 TT and since it just sat in the garage, I figured I would sell it. Clearly it didn't go up in value like the 63 but the 996 finally got the recognition it deserved especially the twin turbos. I sold it for $30k less than I could have sold it for once I kicked that crazy *** woman out of my house. And sadly that was only 1.5 years later.

If I still had my '61 and '65 Austin Healey 3000s, the '64 and '71 E-Types and the '76 and '78 Datsun Z cars, my net worth would be up at least another half-million dollars; so yeah, I regret selling them. In reality, although my F-type will probably never grow in value in my cognicent lifetime (I'm 76), I enjoy it more than the others because its a much more civilized, comfortable and reliable machine that has drop-dead looks, will blow the doors off the old cars I've sold and makes me smile with every snap, crackle and pop! Just sayin.................!

The way I look at it, there were reasons that these cars were cast-off. I know several people who have older classic cars and none of them seem to drive them very much because they are either "collectors" or they just don't drive that well compared to modern cars. I would love to have a really nice Mark II but where am I going to drive it? It's not particularly safe on the freeways or really anywhere else. Having a vehicle with really good brakes is a great thing!
Next time you have the opportunity to drive a car from the 50's/60's, try it out and you'll be amazed at how far [and how safe] cars have become. It's not fun having to worry if the tail is going to fly out around the next turn or whether you are going to be able to stop in time. OTOH, if you just like to care for and admire them, there are few pleasures in life more satisfying.
