What's up...
With this site? It's totally dead. I guess it reflects the status of the F Type. Not very popular and going out of production. Oh well, I love my FTR and since it's the last of the V8s, I'll probably keep it for a long while because no thanks EVs.
Well, these cars' issues are at this point pretty much known and solutions exist for all/most of them.
Pretty great cars: looks, fun, quality, underappreciated and also rare....odd mix that I like.

I will add beautiful and the best feature is the angry sound the V8s make. Main reason i decided in my R.
lol. I got rid of my LX470 for the Model Y but while I had it, the Jag was the most fuel efficient car I had for years!
I'm in a similar boat (pun intended) - my daily is a 97 4Runner, the most expensive 180hp I've ever had, 16mpg on a good day. The Jag gets 25-28 on the highway as long as I'm behaving myself, about the same or slightly better than my wife's BMW X3 (4cyl turbo).

Just got the car this year, and love it, except for the loud exhaust. BUT, it grows on you, so much so that I just ordered a personal license plate with the letters SNAAARL. Is that rationalization, or just plain capitulation?
The loud exhaust and the sound it makes is the main reason I chose the F Type R over other competitors. Then again, all my toys are loud and obnoxious. Just the way I like it. I enjoy the sneers I get from old ladies, neighbors, and EV drivers. Yep, toxic masculinity and proud of it!
Have a new one....I put my car in dynamic mode 99.9999% of the time once warmed up....I don't do 100% pulls or drive "nuts" but I like the instant power move. Was happy getting 22-25mpg at "fast" speeds with the rev count kept in power mode (3000-3500 often....never under 2000...just me).
Anyway, the other day had to run to a site mid day and just left it in normal mode, D.
Was going with traffie in the left lane...it was moving well....anyway, for a 20 minute stint just cruising it was doing 34-36mpg...granted, stage III...new plugs, new oil, new filters.....so pretty "fresh"....but over 33mpg for the whole time on the highway going fast....if under 65 mph...36.
Nuts. That is my new problem.

i drove a mate to the airport the other day and the 122 mile round trip returned 34.5mpg, motorway cruising with a fair bit of traffic, although few real holdups. Did see a BMW EV that had rear-ended an innocent VW, though.
In Europe it's common to measure consumption as litres per 100 kilometres (which I think is ridiculous), but since we still drive miles in the UK we tend to stick with mpg. Although we do buy our petrol in litres - go figure! My guess is that the pumps couldn't be modified to go as high as our gallon prices.
Also don't forget that a gallon is a different size in the US and the UK. In the UK it's about 4.5 liters vs 3.7 liters in the US. Therefore a car will show a meaningfully higher mpg in the UK.
