Unhappy What's Your Worst Speeding Ticket?

Mine is last week. I'm in my F-Type R heading home from a distant high school graduation (niece-in-law). It's on a work night so I won't be getting home 'til late and have to work in the morning. I'm on a remote 4-lane open road on a clear night. I know to slow down in the small cities I travel through on the way but falsely think I can go fast in the county. As I approach a city and just as the speed limit drops from 65 to 55, a sheriff is bursting radar and gets me for 94 in a 55. My court date is pending.

IIRC, way back in 1982.
Returning home from a 10,000 km interstate trip, eager to get home, doing 100 mph down the freeway (65 mph speed limit) and I suddenly hit an amphometer (a pair of parallel rubber strips laid across the road to measure vehicle speed) and one of the boys in blue steps out from the side of the ride and signals me to pull over. But I'm going too fast to have any hope of stopping within cooee of him so I keep going, hoping/praying (and fooling myself) that he was signalling someone else.
A couple of miles later and I spot what appears to be an unmarked cop car come up behind me and tail me for the next 15 to 20 miles (of course by now I am sticking religiously to the speed limit). I turn off down the bottom of the freeway and he keeps going straight on, bewdy I thought, maybe just maybe I got away with that one!
Washing all the bugs off the car a couple of hours later and a patrol car pull into my driveway.
Long story short I'm a goner, but the copper sees reason and doesn't book me for failing to stop, just for speeding.
Court appearance a couple of weeks later, hefty but not ginormous fine, and three days loss of licence.
This was the only time I have ever lost my licence despite being pinged for speeding at least 100 more times since then.

In England I was stopped for allegedly doing 120 mph and was banned for 3 months MANY years ago. My word against 2 cops.

Anyway 1 year ago I was stopped in CT, driving my Rover on 95 south, by a trooper who informed me that anything over 85 mph was jail time. I will not say what speed I was doing however he wrote me up for 85 mph which was something like $350.

Caught driving 112 in a 50 zone. KPH that is. This is a 4 lane highway but slows down to 50 because of 4-5 shops and pharmacy.
1500$ fine...welcome to Quebec where you pay more for everything, including fines.

Wot, you have never had a speeding ticket?
You must be either the slowest or worst (or both) driver in history!

Touch wood I have been pretty lucky, though I actually dont really speed , I just get to the limit quickly. But in my youth (well, 4 years ago) I had my XKR and had popped into a shop not far from work. When I came out the road was absolutely empty and my XKR (X pipe modded) howled away so end up with a rush of blood and planted my foot to listen to it sing, ignoring the 60kph restriction. Anyway, out pops a plodder a few hundred metres up the road and my shoulders slump, he told me that he heard me pulling out and look a reading and I was at 65, he took a second immediately and it was 75, he took another immediately and it was 89 which was when he stepped out, he said he would have hated to see where I would get up to. He was nice enough about it though, and getting a ticket for 29kph over had a substantially better that it would have been if it was 30kph over which would have ticked into a higher bracket

To paraphrase the bard, methinks RJ52 doth protest too much!

Not wanting to make this about me my dear Vince, but what makes you think my sphere of influence is limited to “his area”?

Anyway, here’s the secret:

I got a ticket for 102mph many years ago. Went to court ant the cop didn't show up. Ticket was thrown out. I literally said, "Good morning" and "Thank you" to the judge. Ticket gone!

110mph in a '69 souped up Firefird in my youth on a 1am beach run + open container (beer canteen) + unlawful expedition of speed (was doing cookies on the North Plains overpass when he finally caught up) + careless .... seriously can't remember - there were eight tickets and my passengers also got open container tickets.

Friends didn't bother showing up for Green Acres court appearance so they were automatically guilty and had the OC on their record. I showed up and the cop did not. All tickets waived. I have led a charmed life.

Worst ticket by far was the one I got on my way back from the dealership, the day I bought my f-type... I was stopped for speeding before I even reached my house. Shows I love this car!

The leniency shown by some cops tells me that they have done things like this before becoming L/E.

Naw...he's a silver tongued devil who could talk his way out of a murder charge while holding a smoking gun.
