My other car is a Toyota. Hmmmm... I wonder what I should be telling myself?

A couple of guys put this together for folks that wanted the fun of having a bunch of exotics but not the expense. It is kind of a car share, you name it we have it in the pool and the club maintains the cars and houses them. I can drive a Cobra one day and a McLaren the next if I want to. I don't play golf, so this is my alternative hobby.

You can rent the cars too: Exotic Car Rentals | Club Sportiva (Link is to the stable).

To give you an idea, we go on regular drives. Last week it was SF to LA, this week it was just too the coast through the mountains. Here are some pictures.

Like I said sounds like "champagne wishes and caviar dreams" for the wannabe rich and famous. Seems like winning a raffle with the prom queen for one dance but not being able to take her home. I guess different strokes for different folks.

Default Not really

We're all working guys, all different levels of organizations. CEOs to security guards. A lot of folks here store their cars anyway and don't drive them much. I drive the F-Type pretty much when ever I want and when I need to drive into the city I have Tesla S to drive, and when I really want to impress a Rolls Royce Phantom. And we are a club so we do fun stuff together like the drive today. Using your prom analogy it is like going out with the prom queen any time you want, and all her sisters, and never having her mother move in.

Rob - so on the days you drive the Tesla - is your car available for others in the club to drive?

Yes, in fact it has been rather popular, it went on the drive to LA I didn't. Kind of regret that now as folks had a ton of fun. Granted there was one sad story a guy in his own GT-R (brand new) went off a cliff (he was known for not being a particularly safe driver) and another guy in a new MB pulled over to help, the MB's hot exhaust caught the grass he parked in on fire burning that car to the ground. But the Jag did great. You have to qualify in the car class (not particularly difficult, but they want to make sure you can actually drive a powerful car so you don't kill yourself) and you are good to go. To rent is costs about the same as the R-8, Austin Martin, GT-R, and Tesla. I'm still driving my XK-R too, I so love the new intake, and, so far, everyone that has taken the F out has loved it.

Mike
I can't answer that one

Just made the analogy, respectfully, of course, to clarify things.

StuM, Actually the nuc side does get some govt subsidies to make the cost of power production "look" cheap. I work in the coal side. The ones that our government has brain washed the masses into thinking they should all be shut down. And they are. It will be a sad day in our country when folks will be out there blowing on their wind turbines or shining flash lights on the solar cells just so they can use their microwaves. Electric bills will be so high, no one can afford them. Sorry for my politics rant.
