Default Windshield mounted transponder

Does anyone know for sure whether the 2021 F-type windshield blocks a highway toll transponder?
I was just about to fix my new MA EZPass transponder on my windshield before realizing it might not work.
Do I need to add even more clutter to the front end with a grill/license plate mounted transponders?
This does not appear to be a heated windshield - though I am not sure what a heated windshield looks like, or whether it is standard item on the R-Dynamic.
Does it have embedded electrical wires similar to a rear window defroster?

If I recall...F-TYPEs after a certain year came standard with solar attenuating windshields which will block your transponder. Jaguar recommends mounting such transponders on the dotted portion of the glass immediately behind the rear view mirror.

Yes. From 2017 onwards it has solar attenuating glass that seems to block some toll transponders, radar systems etc. but there is a patch up to the left and right of the rear view mirror which is covered in a black film and doesn't have the solar layer. On mine there is a temp / humidity sensor in a black casing on the right so I mounted it to the left. Here's a similar photo I found online
I have the standard MA EZ pass transponder in mine in that same place and it works every time

Note - can of black spray paint and 5 mins of work before you install it makes it invisible!

Thanks, BritCars, that was exactly the input I was hoping for.

You would know if you had the heated windshield. I don't think I could get used to those squiggly vertical lines. I don't use my transponder that much, I just hold it up to the glass roof when I go by the readers that are up high but if you use it a lot I could see it being a pain. Painting it black is a great option, but I wasn't sure if that would affect it.

I'd rather have the squiggly lines that I can barely see than that superwide rear window heater switch that's always obvious.

Does the glass roof block transponders too? I have mine stuck to the glass roof but have not used it yet.

Mine has always worked through the glass roof.

Glass roof works fine.
Note that in the windshield I don't think it's the heated window wires that are the issue. Even without heated wires they still coat the glass to reduce heat from the sun and it seems to be a metallic coating that interferes with some signals.
