My car is an early ’14 (K05525).

All of a sudden, it won’t change out of Ice Blue. I tried changing it but it stayed Ice Blue. Car on and everything.

Also, there is no ambient lighting in the footwells. Only regular lights when you open the door. I thought JLR was going on the cheap until I noticed ambient lighting in footwells on a V8S.

Anyone know of any fixes before I call the dealer?

Thanks in advance.

don't know if it will help or not, but perhaps disconnect the battery + cable for a couple of minutes then reconnect to 'reboot'.

I figured something out.......
Apparently, you can’t change the colors when the car is set to Dynamic Mode, moving or not. I switched it back to normal and voila!

But aren’t the footwells supposed to have the lighting too?

On mine, ambient lighting is always red in dynamic mode, regardless of the color you set it to. No footwell lighting except for the incandescent lighting when the doors are opened. (What would you need to see down there otherwise?)

+1 always red in dynamic and no dynamic light in footwell.

The whole dynamic lighting thing was incredibly poorly implemented. For example, in dynamic there is some red lighting (grab handle, center console, rev counter etc) but the interior door handles and various other parts remain blue. They should have ensured all interior ambient lighting had the ability to change to one uniform color, not just a few select locations.

When I change color EVERYTHING changes to that color in the interior (grab handle, door handles etc).

I bought my car in 2014 so sounds like they have made some improvements in this area - thankfully!

I messed around a bit more and you guys are absolutely right!

The reason I asked about the footwell ambient lighting is because I have it in my daily driver and had it in Mustang (which I traded).

The ambient light in the footwell is surprisingly relaxing on an evening drive. I could swear I saw it on a picture but I must have been wrong.

A while back and not in this forum I posted a picture when I installed two led pods leftover from my bike project in the footwells (RED), but I have since removed them as they were ignition activated and I didn't want to go nuts rewiring for "open door" mode. The only reason to have them was to aid in spotting stuff that was "stored" on the foor mats and not stepping on them getting into the car. I personally dislike any excessive ambient light, I disabled it on several of my cars because at night I enjoy the darkness. The F-Type ambient light is dim enough not to bother but for example the S550 is a christmas tree and I hate it

Don't know if the poorly documented 'stealth' mode on the Infotainment system still exists, but you should try it if so - makes the interior even darker.

Not quite on my MY15.
The little lights under the top edges of the interior door handles don't change, they stay Phosphor Blue.
Also, the interior lighting doesn't instantly change from Phosphor Blue to Red when I change from "normal" to Dynamic mode, instead it takes around four seconds to change and it actually goes through the other three colours one at a time, and the same in reverse (going from Dynamic to "normal").
Last but not least, and getting back to the title of this thread, the footwell lights cannot change colour as the stock ones are simple T10 5W5 halogen globes of a horribly sickly yellow colour (pretty much standard across the JLR range), and one of the first things I did was swap them out for bright white LEDs. Others have swapped them for Ice Blue LEDs as that is the closest you will get to the OEM Phosphor Blue lighting.
